  World Cinema and Television in French

  This interdisciplinary conference will examine cinematic and televisual cultural productions that fall under a broad "French-language" umbrella in order to map out significant trends as well as new directions in the study of global French-language cinema and television and its points of contact with other languages and industries. It also aims to explore the opportunities and limitations of adopting labels such as cinéma-monde, transnational, Francophone, and World Cinema, as critical frameworks.

  Ce colloque international réunira une soixantaine de conférenciers et les plus grands spécialistes des murs et barrières. Vingt ans après la chute du mur de Berlin, murs et barrières délimitent encore d'importantes frontières dans le monde. Pourtant, la fin de la guerre froide avait marqué l'imaginaire collectif en consacrant la fin d'un monde scindé en deux blocs. Or, ce sont près de 26 000 kilomètres de nouvelles frontières politiques qui ont été créées après 1991. Aux murs frontaliers connus comme celui de la zone démilitarisée entre les deux Corées ou celui que le Maroc a érigé aux confins du Sahara occidental, s'est ajoutée, après la guerre froide, l'annonce de plus d'une vingtaine d'ouvrages maçonnés qui pourraient aller jusqu'à totaliser, advenant leur réalisation complète, plus de 18 000 kilomètres.
