  Revue « Legs et Littérature » n°17

  L’Afrique a toujours été vue – à tort ou à raison - comme le berceau de l’humanité, mais peut-on la considérer comme un berceau des arts et de la littérature qu’il faudrait préserver tel un patrimoine, matériel et immatériel, mondial ? Quand on examine l’évolution littéraire et artistique du continent africain, tout porte à penser qu’en ce qui concerne la littérature, le passage de l’oralité à la textualité est attesté, mais qu’en est-il du passage du texte à l’image, fixe et mouvante ? De l’image à l’imaginaire ? Continuent-ils encore d’être traversés par l’oralité et comment ?

  Construction des savoirs scolaires : enjeux épistémologiques et politiques

  Si l'institution scolaire est confortée dans ses fonctions fondamentales de socialisation des jeunes générations et de consolidation des acquis démocratiques, si la plupart des Etats ont relevé le défi de l'éducation pour tous, la question de "ce que l'école enseigne ou devrait enseigner" demeure au premier plan des politiques scolaires ces dernières décennies. Le propos de cette journée d'étude qui s'articule autour de trois axes est de s'interroger sur les enjeux épistémologiques et politiques autour des savoirs scolaires, dans une perspective nationale et/ou internationale.

  Misperformance: staging law and justice in the African diaspora

  Numéro spécial de la revue « CALLALOO »

  Callaloo invites papers for a special issue on “Misperformance: Staging Law and Justice in the African Diaspora” guest edited by Jason Allen-Paisant (University of Leeds, United Kingdom). This special issue of Callaloo wishes to consider forms of performance that engage the legal apparatuses of colonialism as a site for critical thought and intervention in the political present. We wish to harness the enabling potential of the concept of “failing yet performing acts” for providing new understandings of performative interventions that confront histories of racial violence and imperial crimes despite disavowal, lack of official recognition, and absence of memorialization.

  Résistances : perspectives autochtones et postcoloniales

  Dans Decolonizing Education (2013), Marie Battiste critique la valorisation unique des systèmes eurocentristes de connaissance en ce que ce mouvement minimise les savoirs, les peuples et l’histoire autochtones. Achille Mbembe, dans « Decolonizing Knowledge and the Question of Archive » (2016), propose que la décolonisation des savoirs « implique principalement le développement d’une perspective qui peut nous permettre de nous voir avec lucidité, en relation constante avec nous-mêmes et avec ces autres qui peuplent l’univers, incluant les êtres non humains. » Partant des définitions parfois contrastées du terme « postcolonial » et des suspicions légitimes face aux théories institutionnalisées, nous envisageons le dialogue entre les perspectives autochtones et postcoloniales comme différentes manières d’explorer les relations entre les théories critiques, les objets culturels, les stratégies pédagogiques, les pratiques sociales et les communautés animé·e·s par des objectifs de résistance.

It also aims to explore the opportunities and limitations of adopting labels such as cinéma-monde, transnational, Francophone, and World Cinema, as critical frameworks.

  Cet atelier organisé dans le cadre du congrès de l’association des professeurs de français des universités et collèges canadiens, se propose de réfléchir sur la place du fait religieux dans les écritures et expressions linguistiques francophones. Il cherche à établir ainsi un bilan de l’intégration du fait religieux dans l’intelligibilité du fait francophone, dans la suite des travaux qui réévaluent désormais le legs du fait colonial dans ce fait littéraire. Les contributions souhaitées devraient donc permettre d’en dresser un panorama autant historique qu’actuel en vue d’une publication prévue pour le printemps 2016.

  Beyond French New Languages for African Diasporic Literature

  In recent years, Africans from former French colonies in both the Maghreb and Sub-Saharan regions have been settling in countries other than France and writing in languages other than French. This break with the colonial and postcolonial habits of la Françafrique – the familiar bind of metropole and colony – has been going on for years and is now ripe for analysis. Writing in German, Italian, Dutch, Catalan, Spanish, English, and other languages, these authors suggest new patterns of diasporic belonging and raise new questions about the postcolonial world. Issues of immigration, language choice, cosmopolitanism, global citizenship, and world literature will be addressed.

  Enjeux, espoirs et limites

  Dans le cadre du cinquantenaire des décolonisations africaines, la chaire Lucienne-Cnockaert en histoire de l’Europe contemporaine et de l’Afrique organisera les 17-18 novembre 2011 un colloque intitulé « Le Tiers Monde au temps de la décolonisation : enjeux, espoirs et limites ». Ce colloque entend étudier l’ampleur et la complexité des responsabilités et des défis et la diversité des expériences de gestion multiforme de l’indépendance dans les sociétés postcoloniales d’Afrique, d’Amérique latine et d’Asie.In consideration of the fiftieth anniversary of the decolonization of several African countries, the Lucienne-Cnockaert Research Chair in Modern History of European and Africa will be holding a conference entitled Decolonization in the Third World: Challenges, Hopes and Limitations on 17-18 November 2011. This conference will be an opportunity to study the magnitude and complexity of the responsibilities and challenges, and the various administrative paths chosen by the post-colonial societies of Africa, Asia and Latin America.

  Le groupe de recherches « Esthétique dans les cinémas africains contemporains » organise une conférence à l’Université de Victoria (Colombie Britannique, Canada) du 13 au 15 février 2009 dans le but d’examiner les mutations que ces changements ont pu apporter à l’esthétique des cinémas d’Afrique. Les trois jours de la conférence se concentreront chacun sur l’un des genres suivants : le documentaire, le film de fiction, les films de la diaspora africaine.
