Theoretical and methodological perspectives for research

This dossier invites researchers to submit papers discussing the theoretical and methodological challenges and limits facing new research questions in order to address the interfaces between religion and gender in Latin American countries in light of changes in the social and religious field in recent decades. We welcome works produced from different areas of knowledge in the social and human sciences, as well as areas and studies at the intersection of these issues. We set out to encourage reflection on the ethical challenges faced by researchers regarding the new theoretical and methodological models used in our region and beyond.

Quantum Social Theory: The Future of Sociology?

In sociology, without explicit basis on quantum theory, numerous streams established strong similarities with it, setting at the forefront of their paradigm: the subjectivity of the observer, the continuous adjustment between the object and the observer, the impossibility to be fully deterministic or discussions about an objective reality. In this session, we invite panellists to discuss the links that can be drawn between quantum theory and sociology. We welcome both empirical (qualitative or quantitative) as well as theoretical papers. Depending on the variety and the quality of the papers, a publication will be considered to set the basis of this emerging theoretical stream.

International Sociological Association forum of sociology 2020

For the IV^th ISA (International Sociological Association) Forum that will take place in Porto Alegre, Brazil, we organize two sessions with the Research Committee Historical Sociology. We would like to welcome contributors from a wide variety of research fields in order to discuss issues related to social, cultural and collective memory. One of the sessions will focus on migrations and diasporic experiences, in particular on family memories. The second session is about intergenerational transmission in families in contexts of mass violence, slavery or war.

Music, Tradition and Creativity in the Digital Era

New Ethnomusicological Perspectives From the Global South

This Symposium will explore how digital media and new technologies have affected the ways through which musicians, producers and researchers experiment and engage with "traditional" musical forms, in Colombia and in other parts of the world. The participants are invited to share their research results and methodological experimentations in the field of applied ethnomusicology, music pedagogy, performance, digital audio production or digital humanities about the study of the impact of digital technologies about current musical practices. This Symposium will also include the presence of several local musicians and producers who will conduct workshops on "traditional" Colombian music and music from other countries of the global South.

Revista Âncora - Revista Latino-americana de Jornalismo (UFPB)

A Revista Âncora - Revista Latino-americana de Jornalismo - lança seu novo dossiê temático que tem como título «Estudos feministas e de gênero em jornalismo: história, metodologia e epistemologia». A trajetória da relação ambígua e potente entre o feminismo e a academia é longa. Dos chamados estudos de mulheres, até a década de 1970, ao campo dos estudos de gêneros, que se intensificaram a partir da década de 1980, a atuação de feministas dentro das universidades provocou tensionamentos em alicerces importantes do que tradicionalmente se entendia por conhecimento válido, assim como o perfil e atributos esperados para caracterizar o então sujeito produtor do saber científico.

Analizar lo social desde una perspectiva género, ineluctablemente implica dar cuenta de la historicidad política y epistemológica del concepto. El género como categoría heurística guarda en su seno el calor de los debates y las luchas feministas, pero también los intentos de su sistematización teórica. De aquí reside la dificultad que el feminismo -en tanto campo de estudios y praxis política- encuentra al analizar y repensar el binomio género y religión.

Clase, género y construcción de la paz en el Perú: 1964-2014

Nombrar, investigar o repensar a grupos como el Partido Comunista del Perú-Sendero Luminoso (PCP-SL) y el Movimiento Revolucionario Tupac Amaru (MRTA) supone un peligro para el investigador: ser llamado "terrorista" es común en un medio donde el discurso oficial y el discurso académico han confluido para dar una versión única. Todo aquello que pueda contradecir lo anterior es tratado simplemente de "monstruoso", sobre todo en un país donde los grupos armados siguen siendo un tema tabú. Perú es un país que no ha cerrado sus heridas, y las ONGS sobre la memoria no necesariamente ayudan a entender a plenitud el proceso histórico del Perú, más bien lo confunden, jerarquizan historias y esconden vivencias.

Este coloquio se presenta como la oportunidad de descubrir y visibilizar historias que quedaron ocultas, con el fin de cuestionar la manera en que se escribe y se vive el pasado y presente del Perú. Nos interesaremos en la manera en que el PCP-SL, el MRTA, y las organizaciones afines a ambas, han pensado la articulación entre relaciones sociales de sexo y de clase (al interior del grupo y para con la sociedad civil), en función del orden social y económico existente, y de la necesidad que tuvieron sus integrantes de forjarse una identidad política colectiva para transformar la sociedad y construir un Estado alternativo.

Ergologie, travail, développements

O seminário internacional "Ergologia, Trabalho, Desenvolvimentos" terá lugar na Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação da Universidade do Porto nos próximos dias 15 e 16 de maio de 2012 (Rua Alfredo Allen 4200-135 Porto PORTUGAL_auditório 2C). Os objetivos da iniciativa - que decorre dos encontros da Rede internacional "Ergologia, Trabalho, Desenvolvimentos" - inscrevem-se na convicção, ética e científica, de que não se pode tratar os problemas de desenvolvimento local sem prestar uma atenção renovada à atividade humana, assim como ao trabalho humano, uma das suas formas essenciais e estratégicas. O encontro reunirá a comunidade científica e outros membros da sociedade portuguesa, visando enriquecer e precisar a reflexão sobre pesquisas e intervenções realizadas ou em curso no Norte do país. Os temas irão da "Formação e desenvolvimentos" à "Gestão da prevenção e dos riscos profissionais", dos "Territórios, desenvolvimentos e mobilidades" ao "Trabalho informal e desenvolvimentos". A participação no seminário é gratuita, embora sujeita a inscrição até 30 de abril (ver o formulário de inscrição on line em http://www.fpce.up.pt/ciie/actividades/ergologia.htm).
