International Sociological Association forum of sociology 2020
For the IVth ISA (International Sociological Association) Forum that will take place in Porto Alegre, Brazil, we organize two sessions with the Research Committee Historical Sociology. We would like to welcome contributors from a wide variety of research fields in order to discuss issues related to social, cultural and collective memory. One of the sessions will focus on migrations and diasporic experiences, in particular on family memories. The second session is about intergenerational transmission in families in contexts of mass violence, slavery or war.

Music, Tradition and Creativity in the Digital Era
New Ethnomusicological Perspectives From the Global South
This Symposium will explore how digital media and new technologies have affected the ways through which musicians, producers and researchers experiment and engage with "traditional" musical forms, in Colombia and in other parts of the world. The participants are invited to share their research results and methodological experimentations in the field of applied ethnomusicology, music pedagogy, performance, digital audio production or digital humanities about the study of the impact of digital technologies about current musical practices. This Symposium will also include the presence of several local musicians and producers who will conduct workshops on "traditional" Colombian music and music from other countries of the global South.

This dossier aims to disseminate research findings focused on challenges of cultural policies and critical perspectives addressing key cultural issues facing cities and territories today from a comparative point of view. We aim to find out how and if cultural policies are consistent in promoting cultural diversity and social inclusion. The contributors are also invited to offer new theoretical perspectives on cultural policy and to provide for examples of cities and territories that achieved their goals in terms of promotion of cultural diversity and social developement.

Le bal paré-masqué, rencontre culturelle entre le bal travesti bourgeois et la danse traditionnelle populaire et endiablée, appelée le « kasé-kô », fusion de deux espaces festifs (salon de bal bourgeois et salle de bal populaire) a connu lui aussi quelques évolutions au fil des années. Il suscite un certain nombre d’interrogations : fondements historiques, description et rôle des acteurs qui s’y engagent, évolution et enjeux dans un contexte socio- économique, politique et culturel, spécifique. Ce colloque international pluridisciplinaire permettra de croiser les regards, d’interroger les imaginaires, les discours et représentations concernant les bals masqués de Guyane et d’ailleurs.

Global Culture and Aesthetic Cosmopolitanism
The “Global Culture and Aesthetic Cosmopolitanism” International Conference will discuss the meanings of cultural globalization, its mechanical and hybridizing effects, and its cosmopolitan consequences, from the perspective of global culture and its injunctions through various mediums and objects of cultural consumption (music, TV, books, video games, movies, series, newspapers, comics, blogs, social media, festivals, national heritage). In particular, the conference intends to explore and specify the aesthetic features and foundations of cosmopolitan and translocal cultures. How and under what conditions do the aesthetic conditions of production and reception matter for building cosmopolitan cultures?

O dossiê da próxima edição dos Cadernos de Arte e Antropologia tem como tema “Criatividade e Protagonismo Indígenas”, em distintos contextos etnográficos e sob diversas abordagens teóricas e metodológicas. Trata-se de um tema que tem adquirido crescente visibilidade e interesse como consequência, entre outros fatores, do seu potencial transformador no plano das relações sociais e políticas internas e externas às sociedades indígenas, podendo ser surpreendido, ademais, através de expressões individuais e coletivas e de recortes múltiplos (de gênero, geracional, e etc). O dossiê dará um foco especial às questões estéticas e artísticas, sempre que estas estejam relacionadas ao tema principal. -

O Fazendo Gênero 10 visa favorecer a articulação dos estudos de gênero com abordagens que envolvem outras categorias de análise como classe, raça, etnia, e gerações; criar espaços de troca de experiências e diálogo entre investigadoras/es acadêmicas/os e aquelas/es ligadas/os a outras entidades e aos movimentos sociais; incentivar a participação de estudantes de graduação e de pós-graduação nas discussões travadas no campo dos estudos feministas e de gênero, possibilitando uma formação mais qualificada na área, e produzir conhecimentos que possam resultar em material bibliográfico a ser publicado em livros e periódicos sobre o tema. -

La modernité littéraire a souvent fait de l’acte d’écriture un geste d’irrévérence sociale et politique, aussi bien par le style et l’usage particulier de la langue que par le traitement thématique, explicite ou implicite, de certains sujets tenus pour peu conformes aux conventions sociales. Or, la pensée contemporaine, fortement marquée par l’idée, voire l’idéologie du «politiquement correct», notion complexe et élastique qu’il s’agit de bien saisir, est venue interroger le rapport de l’écriture littéraire au discours social, conformiste ou discordant. Cette problématique se traduit de nos jours par le dégagement d’un débat suscité par des phénomènes, souvent médiatiques, axés sur ce qu’il convient ou ne convient pas socialement d’écrire, que cela touche à la sexualité, à certaines idéologies ou conceptions de la société. -
