    Steering Innovation in Communication Infrastructures

    The interaction between technological innovation and governance of communication infrastructures — the essence of the “guiding star”, as suggested by the title — constitutes the theme of the conference in February 2020. We wish to explore how innovation was steered by postal and telecommunication companies, as well as by other public and private players in the field of communication infrastructures: enterprises, governments, professional and state organizations, the users.

    Mobilising together to decide together

    Fifth OPDE conference - tools for deciding together

    Organisée pour la première fois en Suisse, la cinquième conférence du réseau OPDE s’inscrit dans la continuité des éditions précédentes. Fidèle à l’objectif du réseau, elle questionne la nature et les effets des outils de décision collective sur les orientations, l’efficacité et les retombées de ces processus. Dans une approche transversale, le réseau OPDE analyse les dynamiques décisionnelles par une entrée pluridisciplinaire en associant dès son origine des chercheurs en mathématiques, en sciences de la gestion, en informatique décisionnelle, en sociologie, en sciences politiques, en aménagement et urbanisme, en sciences régionales et en géographie. Dans le cadre de cette cinquième édition, la thématique principale retenue est celle de la mobilisation des acteurs en vue de la construction d’une délibération collective. Celle-ci sera abordée plus particulièrement sous l’angle de l’élaboration, de la mise en oeuvre et des effets des outils d’aide à la décision. Sans exclure d’autres champs d’application, les propositions sont attendues sur les enjeux territoriaux relatifs à la gestion des ressources, au développement des communautés, à l’aménagement du territoire et à la protection de l’environnement.

    Scholarship, prize and job offer - Economy

    Assistant HES (Doctoral student) at Geneva School of Business Administration

    The Geneva School of Business Administration (HEG-Geneva) offers a Research Assistant (Doctoral student) position for three years starting from 1st September 2013.The doctoral student will participate to the project « Organizing, Communicating, and Costing in Risk Governance: Learning Lessons from the H1N1 Pandemic », financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation. He or she will be in charge of the research components dedicated to costing around H1N1. This comparative study will involve qualitative fieldwork in three countries, namely Switzerland, the United States and Japan. He or she will collaborate with a post-doctoral fellow focusing on issues related to organization and communication. He or she will have to write a PhD thesis on H1N1 costing issues and will be supervised by Prof. Nathalie Brender. The project is funded for three years.

    We are offering a research internship for a master-level student in management or sociology for 6 month (September-February) at the university of Geneva, in the HEC department.We are currently conducting a study on corporate alumni networks; this research project is funded by the SNF (Swiss National Fund for research) and is led by Pr. Emmanuel Josserand, HEC, University of Geneva.
