  The aim of this midterm conference is to bring scholars, researchers, educators, students, professionals, and other groups interested in sports and physical activity to propose their works. The focus of this midterm conference lays in the challenges that sociology of sports and physical activity have to face to understand these new complex scenarios, the main issues we had to face, the successes, the criticalities and the lessons learned, the new horizons of our understandings of the social and cultural landscapes.

  Plus qu’un club. Supporters et identité historique

  Diacronie. Studi di Storia Contemporanea invite les chercheurs à engager une réflexion sur la manière dont l'histoire est « fabriquée » et utilisée par les supporters et les groupes d'ultras. En fait, il existe un récit historique officiel réalisé par des clubs sportifs et des clubs de supporters officiels, maiségalement un récit « non officiel », produit spontanément par des groupes de supporters. Tous les deux s'inspirent de l'histoire du sport pour (ré)affirmer le rôle historique des équipes dans une perspective historique.

  Fausto Coppi et l’histoire du cyclisme italien

  Le 15 septembre 1919 naissait l’un des cyclistes les plus forts de tous les temps : Fausto Coppi, le « campionissimo ». L’explosion de sa carrière coïncida avec quelques-uns des moments-clés de l’histoire d’Italie : la reconstruction de l’après-guerre et le « boom » économique. En partant de la figure de Fausto Coppi, le colloque se fixe l’objectif de stimuler une lecture critique du cyclisme, en saisissant ses aspects les plus importants sur le plan historique et en les insérant dans un contexte multidisciplinaire.

  Ce dossier spécial de Comunicazionepuntodoc, se propose comme un moment de réflexion collective et transnationale sur les tentatives de réaffirmation du rôle des journalistes en général dans les démocraties modernes... Il ne s’agit donc pas de faire une étude sur le traitement médiatique de la diversité, ou d’engager la profession dans une posture militante qui consisterait à promouvoir cette question de la diversité, mais bien d’interroger et de comprendre l’exercice de la profession de journaliste dans cette configuration particulière et ainsi répondre aux défis de nos sociétés contemporaines.

  Intimate relationships exist between the enhancement and preservation of cultural heritage and tourism as a fundamental driver for regional development. The time has come to give due recognition to there scaling processes affecting heritage and tourism destinations, intended both as upscaling and downscaling. Rescaling heritage andtourism destinations can be seen as both a strategy pursued by national and regional agencies, or as unintended consequences of the constant interplay between an increasingly complex array of stakeholders, including cross-national institutions and local communities.

The conference is intended as well to cast light on the evolving changes in travel and sojourn in Naples and localities along the gulf during the first half of the nineteenth century, not failing to draw comparisons with other areas of Mediterranean Europe.

  RN 28 Society & Sports - Appel à Communication ESA 2013 (Turin)

  The Esa Research Network 28 ‘Society and Sports’ aims at strengthening the visibility and legitimacy of the sociology of sport within the European sociological community. As such, the Esa conference in Turin 2013 will offer, besides the regular stand alone sessions, a broad range of joint sessions in which the sociologists of sport can discuss and exchange their knowledge with colleagues from different but overlapping sociological fields (such as health, gender, emotions, globalization, consumption, and many others).
