  Governance of the Universal Church after the Council of Trent – Two PhD positions - Max Planck Research Group

  The Max Planck Research Group III investigates the emergence and development of the system of post-Tridentine global governance of the Catholic Church in depth from an interdisciplinary perspective over an extended period of time. It will do so by analysing the activity of the Congregations of the Council, the dicastery responsible for appropriately implementing the Council decisions in the entire Catholic world.  We are now looking to recruit as soon as possible (but no later than 1 April 2019) two doctoral students who will develop a doctoral thesis preferably focused on the history of the Congregation of the Council in the early modern period (XVI-XVIII century).

  A PhD and project position in History

  Darmstadt University of Technology (TU Darmstadt), near Frankfurt, Germany, announces a three-year position for a doctoral student (with the option of a two-year extension), beginning October 1, 2017. We welcome applications from talented and diligent students with research experience from the former “French” parts of Sub-Saharan Africa who are willing to explore new historical perspectives, empirically and methodologically. The successful candidate will become a part of a larger project called “A Global History of Technology, 1850–2000” (GLOBAL-HOT).

  Bourses scientifiques de mobilité de moyenne durée en Allemagne (IFRA de Francfort)

  L'Institut franco-allemand de sciences historiques et sociales (IFRA-SHS) de Francfort propose deux bourses scientifiques de moyenne durée pour l'été 2017. Elles s'adressent à des doctorants (bourse Mandrou de 1300 euros) et postdoctorants (bourse Monod de 1500 euros) engagés dans une recherche en sciences humaines portant sur l’histoire et la civilisation des pays germaniques du Moyen Âge à la première moitié du XX^e siècle, ou sur des sujets relevant d’autres disciplines des sciences sociales, dont la dimension franco-allemande constitue un élément important et une réelle plus-value scientifique.

  JEV-Fellowship for European Administrative History

  The research fellowship for European Administrative History is donated by Professor Erk Volkmar Heyen who until his retirement had been holder of the chair of Public Law and European Administrative Law at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University Greifswald. He was also the editor of the “Jahrbuch für europäische Verwaltungsgeschichte/Yearbook of European Administrative History” (JEV). His awarding is based on a selection procedure organized by the Max-Planck-Institut.

  Bourse annuelle d'aide à la mobilité à l'Institut français d'histoire en Allemagne

  Ce poste de boursier d’aide à la recherche est d’une durée d’un an renouvelable une fois. Peuvent faire acte de candidature des spécialistes en histoire ancienne, médiévale, moderne et contemporaine. Les candidats doctorants doivent avoir engagé une recherche (DEA ou M2 requis) qui concerne l’histoire ou l’historiographie allemande. Le montant mensuel de l’aide à la mobilité est de 1 400 euros.
