  Scholarships in Berlin - Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives

  The Study Foundation of the House of Representatives is a grant programme for young researchers from the United States of America, Great Britain, France, and the successor states of the Soviet Union, who want either to work on Berlin along with German as well as German-international issues or to use research facilities in Berlin. The Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives shall contribute to the further development of a generation of young scholars from the aforementioned states whose research issues deal with Berlin or Germany. Moreover, the young researchers shall use their stay in Berlin in order to make themselves familiar with the political and social system in Berlin and Germany, and build lasting relationships between themselves and with the Berlin House of Representatives. Thus, the Foundation seeks to awaken or strengthen long-term interest in and understanding of Germany in the aforementioned states.

  Bourses à Berlin pour jeunes chercheures et chercheuses

  La Fondation d'études de la chambre des députés à Berlin

  La Fondation d'études de la Chambre des députés de Berlin soutient de jeunes chercheurs de toutes disciplines de la France, de la Grande Bretagne, des États-Unis d'Amérique et des états successeurs de l'Union soviétique qui souhaitent réaliser des projets de recherche à Berlin. La Fondation attribue 15 bourses pour une durée de 10 mois du 1 octobre 2020 au 31 juillet 2021.

  Geomedia and the City

  Geomedia is an emerging concept that has been deployed to capture a particular technological condition, associated with recent rapid developments in digital technology. As such, it signals to the dialectics of locative media and the mediations of localities. However, the concept of geomedia carries deeper/wider ontological and epistemological registers that transcend the simple twining of geography and media. In this wider sense, geomedia gestures to the expanding interdisciplinary terrain at the crossroads of media studies and geography, where various ontologies and epistemologies of space/time, flows/mobilities and mediation/ mediatization come together. The aim of this special issue is to explore the urban as a key terrain where these ontologies and epistemologies are articulated.

  Grants for the academic year 2018-2019

  The Studienstiftung des Abgeordnetenhauses von Berlin (Study Foundation of the Berlin House of Representatives) sponsors a scholarship programme that offers financial support to students and young researchers. The programme is directed to citizens of the United States of America, Great Britain, France, and the successor states of the former Soviet Union. Applications from all fields are accepted. Applicants should want to use research facilities in Berlin and/or study at a Berlin institution of higher education.

  Refugees in the City

  The Urban Studies Seminar is a joint activity of the Zentrum Moderner Orient (ZMO) and 'Europe in the Middle East - The Middle East in Europe' (EUME), a research program at the Forum Transregionale Studien, Berlin. It is part of the EUME research field, «Cities Compared». The seminar aims at presenting and discussing ongoing research of scholars working on cities in regions with Muslim societies with an emphasis on Urban Studies in a comparative perspective.

  Bourses de courte durée du Centre Marc Bloch

  Le Centre Marc Bloch attribuera cette année des bourses afin de soutenir la rédaction de thèse ou d’un projet de recherche en sciences humaines et sociales. Ces bourses soutiendront des projets des chercheurs en priorité non-résidents à Berlin, contribuant aux différents champs de recherche présents au Centre et qui travailleront en coopération étroite avec les groupes de travail correspondants. Elles peuvent financer des séjours de recherche en archives ou de recherche sur le terrain mais aussi des séjours de rédaction, d’organisation d’une manifestation ou de mise en œuvre de projets de projet de recherche au sein d´un groupe de travail du CMB.

  Bourses de la Chambre des députés de Berlin

  La Chambre des députés de Berlin a créé en 1994 une Fondation d’études et un programme de bourses en guise de remerciement tardif aux anciennes puissances alliées. Puissances d’occupation ou de protection, elles ont marqué notre ville, sa vie culturelle et politique, pendant près de cinquante ans après la fin du second conflit mondial. La Chambre des députés de Berlin a chargé sa Fondation d'études de maintenir, d’approfondir et d’étendre les nombreux contacts et liens d’amitié avec la France, la Grande-Bretagne et les USA, ainsi qu’avec les États successeurs de l'Union soviétique. La Fondation d’études soutient de jeunes chercheurs originaires de ces pays souhaitant réaliser un projet de recherche portant sur Berlin, et plus généralement sur l’Allemagne.
