  Contestations, Emotions! Social and artistic expressions in the Public Space

  A theoretical and practical perspective from the ground

  During the recent movements of contestation in Mediterranean countries different kind of aesthetic gestures using the streets and the public spaces as places for a public manifestation of some social, ordinary -or radical- critic. They proceed from an ordinary culture that is transformed, adapted then spread out upon a new form in artistic tracks taking place in public spaces. These actions have both a critical and aesthetic dimension. They rely on the environment, mobilize cognitive, memorial and cultural or ordinary patterns. They also mobilize a common culture . This is the case of rap, new uses of old music, villages against occupation, graphic art in Palestine, in Egypt or in Syria. The conference will present and analyse some forms of experimentations, and public and critical commitments. What kind of “public spaces” is in use nowadays? How it configures new spaces of critic and public space and a new environment ? The panel will adopt a trans-disciplinary perspective by bringing together social scientists and practicers or activists.

  Identity, Religion and Ethnicity

  New Patterns, Realities and Pitfalls

  The workshop will analyse the interaction and the interpenetration of nationality, ethnicity and identity through the problematic of transnationalism, globalization and nation-state perspectives. The workshop will be supplemented by practical visits to local communities. Participants are invited to consider the theoretical debates and issues in differing local areas with a variety of social practitioners and representatives to gain further insights of demographic, economic, philosophic, legal and socio-anthropological approaches.

  Law and property in Lebanon : empirical investigations

  Longtemps ignorées par les sciences sociales, la question du droit de propriété et de sa transmission au Liban, ainsi que celle des usages de la propriété et de ses droits dans différentes arènes méritent de faire l'objet d’une réflexion pluridisciplinaire privilégiant les méthodes d'enquête empiriques. Cette journée d'études, qui a lieu dans le cadre des programmes de recherche (ANR) PROMETEE et ANDROMAQUE (http://www.cjb.ma/205-andromaque-et-prometee.html) réunira ainsi des sociologues, des anthropologues, des historiens, des politologues et des juristes pour réfléchir à travers des études de cas et des travaux en cours sur ce que peut apporter l'étude des pratiques juridiques et judiciaires liées à la propriété à l'analyse du droit, de la norme et du politique au Liban et dans les pays voisins.

  Mémoire et patrimoine à l'ère de la globalisation

  Cultures de / dans la déterritorialisation

  Dans le cadre du XVIIIe congrès international de l'AISLF, « Être en société. Le lien social à l'épreuve des cultures », le GT 14 « Institutions du patrimoine » propose de s'interroger sur les mutations des pratiques patrimoniales et mémorielles à l'ère de la globalisation et dans la mesure où ce phénomène marque l'affaiblissement de la référence territoriale. Il s'agira de montrer, via des descriptions fines de situations, de quelles actions sur le passé se nourrissent les cultures de ou dans la déterritorialisation – et pour quelles visées politiques.
