Exvoto. El voto como objeto: concepción, exposición, patrimonialización
Longtemps cantonnées à l’étude de ses formes picturales, les recherches sur l’ex-voto ont été renouvelées à l’aube du XXIe siècle révélant dans le même mouvement la complexité de sa définition. Objet d’un vœu, objet d’une promesse, l’ex-voto se caractérise par sa variabilité formelle et usuelle, qui brouille son identification. Il est alors essentiel de se tourner vers les spécialistes de sa fabrication pour considérer les conditions de son élaboration dans une temporalité complexe qui va de l’imploration du divin au dépôt de la chose promise. Quelle que soit la religion au sein de laquelle il prend forme, l’ex-voto est replacé dans un lieu de culte, et la question de son exposition devient centrale. Objet connecteur entre le profane et le sacré, sa valeur se transforme au gré de ses circulations et selon le lieu où il est présenté. De son exhibition dévotionnelle à son exposition patrimoniale, l’ex-voto nous permettra de nous interroger lors de ce colloque sur les interrelations qu’il construit entre : religion et esthétique, dévotion et patrimonialisation, culture populaire et culture savante.

“Marine Feet and Vesuvian Eyes”: The Volcanic Aesthetics of Maria Orsini Natale
Edited Collection
This volume intends to fill a gap in the critical reception of a remarkable Southern Italian woman writer. A journalist, a poet and a writer, Maria Orsini Natale (1928-2010) lived and worked at the foot of Vesuvius, and began writing at age 69, receiving several literary recognitions. Her novel, initially written as Ottocento Vesuviano, then entitled Francesca and Nunziata, and published for the first time in 1995, was also made into a 2001 film directed by Lina Wertmüller, starring Sophia Loren and Giancarlo Giannini. The book earned her a semifinalist’s place in the Strega Prize, the most prestigious Italian literary award, and features a family from Amalfi, dedicated for generations to the white art of pasta making. More than fiction, it illustrates what in Neapolitan is called a ‘cunto’, part historical account and part allegorical tale, derived from a reservoir of collective as well as personal memories.

Mexican perspectives of France and the United States, 1821-1950
Le colloque programmé vise à analyser les représentations des voyageurs mexicains sur l'autre monde, la France et les États-Unis, pays visités par d'innombrables personnalités politiques et intellectuelles, ainsi que par des témoins anonymes, depuis l'indépendance du Mexique au milieu du XXe siècle. Nous tenterons de déchiffrer ces témoignages mexicains à caractère privé et intime (épistolaires, mémoires, journaux intimes...) sans exclure les chroniques et documents publiés dans la presse sur le monde français et américain entre 1821 et 1950. Comment ces voyageurs, touristes cosmopolites, exilés politiques, artistes en herbe, diplomates ont-ils transcrit leur vision de l'autre, français ou américain ?

Si l'institution scolaire est confortée dans ses fonctions fondamentales de socialisation des jeunes générations et de consolidation des acquis démocratiques, si la plupart des Etats ont relevé le défi de l'éducation pour tous, la question de "ce que l'école enseigne ou devrait enseigner" demeure au premier plan des politiques scolaires ces dernières décennies. En 2018, la Société internationale pour la didactique de l'histoire (SIDH) tiendra son congrès annuel pour la première fois en Amérique du Nord, le thème étant « Agentivité, citoyenneté et penséehistorienne : recherches empiriques ». Penser le monde pour y agir exige l'exercice d'une agentivité humaine (Emirbayer et Mische, 1998 ; Demers, Bachand et Leblanc, 2016) ; l'apprentissage de l'histoire et de la géographie, entre autres, permet aux élèves de développer une citoyenneté indispensable à l'émancipation collective et à l'action sociale et politique orientée vers la justice.

9th Forum mondial de médiation conference
L'évènement consiste à réunir pour la première fois des chercheurs et des praticiens investis dans deux champs de la médiation ordinairement séparés, celui des médiations interpersonnelles (sphère de gestion des conflits inter-‐individuels) et celui des médiations internationales (sphère de gestion des conflits socio-politiques intra ou inter-étatiques) dans un congrès scientifique au Canada. Ce congrès, co-organisé par le Centre de recherche en droit public de l'université de Montréal et par l'université du Luxembourg sous l'égide du Forum mondial de médiation (FMM) a pour thème : Regards croisés sur les médiations interpersonnelles et les médiations internationales.

Après les premières vagues de revendications identitaires du tournant des XIXe et XXe siècles, puis de l’entre-deux-guerres, les années 1960 voient la renaissance et la multiplication des mouvements d’affirmation particulariste en Europe comme en Amérique du Nord. Nous nous limiterons ici aux espaces de la francophonie, qui offrent un vaste champ d’études cohérent, mais cela n’empêchera pas – elle sera bien au contraire encouragée – une mise en perspective grâce à l’étude succincte d’autres aires géographiques et civilisationnelles.

African and Gypsy categorizations in France
The process of ethnicization in ordinary discourse
In France, Bulgarian and Romanian migrants identified as “Roma” and usually living in slums are regularly the targets of categorizations, of rejection and of xenophobic violence. Even though other immigrated populations, such as Africans, have been subject to this type of ostracism for some time, the spectre of racism and xenophobia has spread under the effect of the diffusion of a number of political and media discourses. Whether coming from the right or the left of the political spectrum, these differentialist discourses stem from the highest level of the State, and have been regularly relayed by the media, thus legitimizing their presence within the French public space.

L’univers cinématographique d'Alain Resnais (1922-2014) forme un paysage aussi singulier qu’insaisissable, privilégiant les démarcations floues, les topographies imprévues. Dans leur ouvrage, Alain Resnais : liaisons secrètes, accords vagabonds (Paris, 2006), Jean-Louis Leutrat et Suzanne Liandrat-Guigues invoquent l’image de l’archipel comme point d’entrée dans un monde à la fois dense et élusif, constitué de territoires multiples et éparpillés néanmoins reliés par un fil souterrain. Ce colloque a pour but de (re)baliser l’« archipel Resnais » en traçant les héritages et les sources d’influences du cinéaste. Favorisant un dialogue interdisciplinaire, il accueillera des intervenants venant de disciplines les plus diverses. Cet événement représentera aussi la première étape vers une publication d’essais novateurs sur Resnais.
