Blank spaces. A Survey on absence
Lacuna is the term which conventionally refers to the void generated, within a text, by the loss of some elements: letters, words or even sentences. It is a cavity collecting a writing suspension able to compromise the whole discourse meaning. However, the lack of words is not always identifiable as a space of incongruence or philological desperatio. Rather, it can emerge as a representational criterion and be defined as the result of external contingencies or as a voluntary or unaware communication forswearing.

Travel and Sojourn in the Early Nineteenth Century
Beyond Naples, toward Amalfi and Sorrento
During the first half of the nineteenth century traveling and sojourning in Europe reflected a cultural climate marked by both resistance and enthusiasm. The conference is intended as well to cast light on the evolving changes in travel and sojourn in Naples and localities along the gulf during the first half of the nineteenth century, not failing to draw comparisons with other areas of Mediterranean Europe.

Democratic Highbrow. Bloomsbury between élite and mass culture
Democratic Highbrow. Bloomsbury tra élite e cultura di massa
Bloomsbury group represented a new way of living and working which marked a definitive break with the Victorian tradition and paved the way to modernity in the English culture. Between the wars the group was perceived by the British public alternatively as a stronghold of culture and civilization against barbarism and as the despicable epitome of modernist intellectual elitism. Nowadays Bloomsbury is a major presence in the cultural industry but, at the same time, it continues to raise questions and stimulate critical reflections: was it a coterie or a democratic avant-garde, an intellectual authority or an eccentric circle that “lived in squares and loved in triangles?” These are the issues that the conference seeks to address in a multidisciplinary perspective encompassing sociology of cultural processes and history of art, economics and history of ideas, literature and cultural history.

Trois conférences internationales ont eu lieu dans le cadre de la caENTI à Alba Iulia (Roumanie, 2006), Huelva (Espagne, 2007) et Besançon (France, 2008).
