The World Conference on Qualitative Research (WCQR) is an annual event that aims to bring together researchers, academics and professionals, promoting the sharing and discussion of knowledge, new perspectives, experiences and innovations on the field of qualitative research. It encourages the submission of scientific works that focus on several fields of application in qualitative research, from education to health, social sciences, engineering and technology, among others.

Si le tourisme est un phénomène moderne, le tourisme spirituel se pose comme une mutation post-moderne et plurielle de la pratique du pèlerinage vers les lieux sacrés. Pèlerins et touristes partagent les mêmes exigences concernant la disponibilité de structures, infrastructures et services. Toutefois, les motivations qui les poussent à entamer le voyage dont la connotation est spirituelle peuvent être profondément différentes, comme sont différents les moyens de transport utilisés pour atteindre la destination. Une mobilité spirituelle non seulement amplifie le registre du sacré, mais ouvre aussi à l’immanence au point de pouvoir analyser cette pratique dans le domaine des loisirs spirituels.

ISSR's 35th Congress - Thematic session
Small nations of Central and Eastern Europe have provided fertile ground to study the relationship between religion and politics. Too often, however, research on the region suffers from a problematic Orientalism, depicting nationalism in the East as a dangerous ethnic, religious, and anti-modern force. This bilingual thematic session, organized within the framework of the 2019 Congress of the International Society of Sociology of Religions (ISSR - July 9-12 - Barcelona), seeks to understand the relationship between politics and religion “from within” small nations themselves.

V congreso internacional del Observatorio de la alimentación y la fundación Alicia
El patrimonio alimentario, como el «patrimonio» en general, ha sido considerado tanto como una construcción socio-cultural, con capacidad para representar simbólicamente una identidad, como una industria de valores añadidos. Por parte de numerosos gobiernos, estatales o regionales, existe una voluntad de conocer el patrimonio alimentario de las poblaciones con el propósito de proponer políticas de fomento productivo y de iniciar procesos de desarrollo local mediante la valorización de los productos y cocinas locales. Las gastronomías locales forman parte, cada vez más, de los recursos susceptibles de ser explotados por parte de la oferta turística. Turismo y restauración no solamente contribuyen a la valoración de la cocina tradicional y a su posible recuperación si no, también, a su transformación y redefinición, bajo parámetros diversos y, a veces, contradictorios: por un lado, «selección», «reducción» y «simplificación» de aquellos platos y productos considerados representativos; y por otro, «idealización», «replicación» y generalización...

How can an object and its materiality be defined? Which are the relationships and/or bonds that link individuals to objects? Which are meanings and values that should be considered in an object that is stripped from its context? How can it be described, replaced and represented in its natural environment (if it exists)? Are there limits to said representations? For the next issue, Forma. Revista d'Estudis Comparatius joins the project put forward by the collective “Jeune chercheurs de TELEMMe” for the preparation of their annual study conferences about the "object" in the Humanities and the Social Sciences. -

FORMA privileges the dialogue between disciplines and critical traditions. The subject matter of the articles is open. All the texts, as specified in the System of Arbitration section, have to comply with the guidelines established by the entities in charge of indexing scientific journals, with regard to the plurality of the editorial and scientific committees as well as the selection process and revision of published texts. All articles will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

Dans la lignée des réflexions menées lors de la XIIe journée Realiter de Santiago, axée sur la normalisation linguistique, la journée 2017 propose d’approfondir l’analyse des opportunités et des tensions dues à la convergence des objectifs de la normalisation linguistique et de l’internationalisation, de réfléchir à l’impact de cette dynamique sur les demandes linguistiques des organismes et des universités dans lesquels travaillent la plupart des membres du Réseau, ainsi qu’aux solutions apportées aux nouvelles priorités. Dans cette perspective, on mettra l’accent sur les changements et les possibilités d’innovation en matière de méthodologie et de pratiques terminologiques, sur les ressources mises au point et, en particulier, sur les profils des professionnels en terminologie déjà formés et en formation.

The Transatlantic Embrace: Spanish Civil War in America’s Intimate Distance
Spanish Civil War has been studied under its multiple angles. This can also be said about the literature concerning this topic: novels, poems, and all literary forms generated by this armed conflict (both by Spanish and foreign intellectuals) have been commented by academic criticism from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. However, fewer approaches have set the axis of their critical focus on the importance of the Spanish conflict in America and its decisive relevance as a part of a phenomenon that is also American. This special number of the FORMA journal sets out to give a voice to all types of contributions able to shed a new light on this fundamental aspect of the war, whose causes and consequences are clearly rooted in Spain, but whose horizon overflows the peninsular and continental borders and requires an inevitably transatlantic point of view.

Identidades y relaciones culturales entre el Mediterraneo y Europa
La predicación es un tema particularmente propicio para el análisis de las interacciones entre las sociedades del Mediterráneo y de Europa, sobre todo en la época premoderna y su investigación resulta idónea para trascender ciertos tópicos historiográficos. ¿Cómo definir el papel de los predicadores cristianos, judíos y musulmanes en la construcción, la transmisión y la difusión de conceptos sobre la identidad y la alteridad religiosa, cultural y política o las distinciones? ¿Cuáles son las estrategias retóricas, narrativas u otras que se emplearon? ¿Puede calificarse la predicación en la Edad Media como práctica transcultural? Se trata de definir el papel desempeñado por la predicación y por los predicadores en la elaboración de representaciones culturales operantes en las sociedades europeas y mediterráneas.

Regardless of our awareness, our understanding of our selves, we have always been the product of creation – the result of the playful and subversive blurring of the boundaries between fiction and life, between self and other, between fantasy and reality. Who we are – how we tell the story of our lives – has always traversed the divides between artistic invention, personal reflection and historic fact; being as much the product of the creative process as the characters depicted by artists in their works.

Art, hybridation and circulation in the time of the American empires (13th-17th centuries)
El siglo XVI representó una época de grandes cambios y transformaciones que marcaron la vida política y económica del Viejo Mundo. Los europeos impulsaron una empresa mundial del saber que contribuyó a la creación de nuevas culturas y nuevos saberes, adaptadas a las circunstancias particulares de la interacción, que fueron reelaboradas por las poblaciones nativas bajo la influencia de las tradiciones locales. Uno de los ámbitos en los que puede apreciarse esta “mezcla” es en el campo artístico, donde la influencia de los motivos indígenas es incuestionable. En estas jornadas, se cuestionarán las formas híbridas que se producieron en el campo del arte con el contacto entre los imperios americanos e peninsulares así como la circulación de objetos, personas y saberes entre ambos lados del Atlántico. Tampoco se olvidarán las influencias del arte americano sobre Europa.

The editorial board of "Forma. Revista d’Humanitats" journal is pleased to inform that the call for the reception of articles, reviews, critics and states of the Art for their publication in the next monographic number: Language and alterity. Limits and excesses in the construction of meaning is currently open. In this number we expect to stimulate a debate within the humanistic disciplines revolving around problématiques stirred by the types of comprehension and artistic representation, the experiences and languages of the ineffable, poetic obscurity, autonomy and transgression of the resources of artistic expression, excess and horror. These experiences and languages, in their transgression and excess of the artistic normative structures, promote studies concerning their difference and alterity in relation to the traditional models of comprehension and representation.

The reception of the Reform in the Iberian peninsula
Reform and religious dissidences in the 16th century
La question de la réception de la Réforme dans la péninsule ibérique s’est prêtée à des controverses historiographiques stimulantes, tenant aussi bien aux profils théologiques des courants qui s’en inspirèrent qu’à la nature des sources étudiées, pour la plupart inquisitoriales. Héritière de Marcel Bataillon, l’historiographie contemporaine cherche aujourd’hui à élargir le champ des questionnements, comme en témoigne la floraison de travaux récents. Ce congrès entend interroger et analyser les ouvrages de théologie lus dans la péninsule au regard des processus d'appropriation, de réélaboration et de réécriture de contenus hétérodoxes et propose de les étudier au prisme de l'éclectisme qui présidait au choix de certains auteurs de la Réforme européenne et à la défense de certaines thèses au détriment d'autres.

The First International Symposium on Primitivism aims to shed new light on a debate that has been given little attention in the field of Humanities, and which focuses on the relationship between Art and the Primitive. The disciplinary foundation of these studies is in History and Art Theory. However, it is also necessarily interdisciplinary, to the extent that we are interested in understanding the aesthetic phenomena that constitute Western art, not only from the perspective of an artistic history, but also – and especially – from its imbrications with aesthetics, culture, society, and politics.

International experimental poetry days: poetics, criticism and reception
Le groupe de recherche Poció. Poesia i Educació, dans le cadre du projet de recherche « La poesia experimental catalana entre 1959 i 2004» (FFI2010-18880 sous-programme FILO), organise les Journées Internationales de Poésie Expérimentale : poétiques, critique et réception. Elles auront lieu au MACBA (Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona) les 25 et 26 octobre 2012.Nous partons du constat suivant : le débat théorique, dans le domaine littéraire, s'est rarement soucié de ces poétiques, et ne s'est guère plus intéressé à l'analyse de leurs pratiques les plus novatrices et radicales. Pourtant, l'actualité éditoriale, muséographique, tout comme l'agenda des expositions en Europe et aux Etats-Unis montrent un intérêt croissant pour ce domaine. Le développement d'outils analytiques pertinents et efficaces semble dès lors tout à fait nécessaire, afin de comprendre et d'expliquer une partie essentielle de notre modernité.C'est à cette fin que nous proposons une rencontre internationale de spécialistes, permettant d'une part, de dessiner une carte des liens complexes constitutifs du domaine poétique expérimental depuis les années 1960, et, d'autre part, de stimuler le débat sur les nouveaux discours critiques et les outils d'analyse pour cette pratique hybride.Nous nous donnons les objectifs suivants :1. Aider à la construction de modèles d'analyse à la diversité des formes utilisées par la poésie expérimentale.2. Dessiner la carte des différentes poétiques liées à la poésie expérimentale.3. Étudier la réception de ces poétiques par le public et la critique. -

Appel à contribution pour le prochain monographique de FORMA (Revue d’études compares, art, littérature et philosophie), « Les images du livre ». Forma est une revue numérique née au sein de l'Institut universitaire de culture (UIC) et du Département de sciences sociales de l'université Pompeu Fabra de Barcelone; tous deux caractérisés par la pluridisciplinarité. FORMA privilégie donc le dialogue entre disciplines et traditions critiques. Ainsi, nous invitons des professeurs, étudiants en doctorat et autres chercheurs à nous envoyer un article ou un compte-rendu sur une oeuvre scientifique.
