Call for papers - Political studies
4th doctoral study day of the Democracy and Participation research group
L’activité du Groupement d'intérêt scientifique (GIS) « Démocratie et participation » vise la confrontation de travaux puisant aux différentes conceptions de la démocratie, relevant des différents courants de recherche qui traversent les disciplines des sciences humaines et sociales (anthropologie, sociologie, science politique, géographie, aménagement, droit, philosophie, histoire, infocom…). Les travaux qu’encouragent le GIS ambitionnent d’appréhender la multiplicité des expériences qui voient le jour dans le monde, de rendre compte de leur émergence dans des contextes politiques variés, et de leur adaptation à des situations différenciées. L’enjeu est également d’analyser les fondements normatifs et juridiques de ces expérimentations, leur déroulement et leurs résultats, d’étudier leurs effets multiples, tant recherchés qu’induits, d’éclairer les enjeux de leur institutionnalisation et les résistances à celle-ci.

Sustainable development. Territories and innovations
Le XIVe congrès du Réseau international de recherche sur les organisations et le développement durabl (RIODD) s’inscrit dans la continuité de l’ouverture interdisciplinaire amorcée dans les éditions précédentes. Celle-ci se manifestera dans ce congrès à travers son thème : « Développement durable : territoires et innovations », au coeur des interrogations de plusieurs disciplines de science shumaines et sociales et de sciences appliquées, mais aussi dans la composition de l’équipe organisatrice, ouverte sur divers acteurs du territoire académique de Poitou-Charentes.

The conference, Women with absent husbands, from antiquity to modern times: on land, at sea, and overseas (Europe – North America), will be an opportunity to reflect on the condition and daily lives of married women experiencing the temporary absence of their husbands. This includes a wide range of situations, varying according to the reason for the absence (work at sea, imprisonment, war, migration, seasonal work, religion, and so on) and their terms (voluntary or enforced) and location (city, country, seaside, mountain, island, colony, etc.), as well as the wife’s age, the presence of children, the social milieu, and whether or not the wives can rely on support networks of family and friends.

Observing tourists to better understand tourism
5th International Multidisciplinary Symposium ASTRES
Observing tourists is a topic of growing interest for scientists and the professional or organizational realms of tourism. It seems to be confirmed by the increasing number of observatories managed by scientists or institutional structures. However, each scientific discipline or each professional or institutional actor might use different methods of observing the object, different indicators or scales of measurement, etc. This symposium will be an opportunity to understand these differences and show bridges or gateways between each kind of player. Indeed, the observation of tourists highlights a multidisciplinary interest in scientific observation but also raises the question of an interdisciplinary approach where methods and paradigms can complement each other to observe the tourists and hence better understand tourism.

6th "Law and cinema" day
La sixième édition des rencontres « Droit et cinéma », organisées depuis 2008 pendant le Festival international du film de La Rochelle, sera consacrée à « La famille au cinéma ». Un grand nombre de films oscillant entre deux pôles « Famille je vous aime », « Famille je vous hais », ce colloque (soutenu par le GIP Mission de recherche droit et justice) sera l'occasion d'analyser la famille et les questions juridiques qu'elle soulève dans une approche interdisciplinaire (juridique, historique, économique, littéraire, civilisationniste, gestionnaire, sociologique, communicationnelle, cinématographique). -

La cinquième édition des rencontres « Droit et cinéma : regards croisés », organisées depuis 2008 pendant le Festival international du film de La Rochelle, sera consacrée au thème de la censure dans le septième art. Nous tenterons par une approche interdisciplinaire (juridique, économique, historique, littéraire et cinématographique) d'analyser la censure dans ses multiples formes.
