2º Congresso Internacional de Redes Sociais
2nd Congress International of Social Networks
Social networks occupy today an unprecedented centrality in developed societies. They are one of the most important components in the structure of social relations between people and organizations, through which they share values, expectations, interests and an immensity of flows that place them at a high level of complexity. Knowing and understanding this complexity, as well as the social networks and the multiplicity of configurations that are inherent to them, is one of the biggest challenges of our times. Today, talking about social networks, puts us on a new paradigm in the social sciences. In the dynamics of social relations, the actors involved in it, develop their interactions driven by diverse logics and strategies of action, putting challenges in their analysis and understanding to social intervenors and the academic community. It is in this context that the 2nd edition of CIReS.

Publication of books in e-book format
Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades (CIDEHUS) has a collection of books with peer review: Biblioteca: Estudos e Colóquios – intended to the publication of monographic works. This collection has an international scientific committee and an editorial committee, in addition to an adviser. Every year, this collection makes an open call to the academic community in general and not only to the members of CIDEHUS for publication purposes. This is the 2018 call. The works, however, will almost assuredly only be published in 2019.

Collection "Fontes e inventários"
CIDEHUS: Call for e-book proposals
CIDEHUS (Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas e Sociedades) has one book collection with peer-review: Fontes e Inventários that publishes historical sources editing or inventories of archives and other collections. From now on, once a year, CIDEHUS opens a call for book proposals to general academic community and not only to the members of our research center.

Starting Grant: Library and Information Science / Digital Humanities
The CIDEHUS (Interdisciplinary Center of History, Cultures and Societies of University of Évora) is opening the call for 1 research fellowship (starting Grant, “Bolsa de Cientista Convidado”) in the field of Library and Information Science / Digital Humanities, within the framework of UID/HIS/00057/2013 Project, with financial support from FCT/MEC (through national funds, eventually co-financed by FEDER (PT2020 Partnership agreement).

[Entre]vistas: desenho, aplicação e análise de entrevistas em investigação social
Curso livre
A Escola de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Évora organiza um curso livre com dois objectivos principais: proporcionar a aprendizagem dos fundamentos teóricos e práticos que alicerçam o desenho, aplicação, tratamento, análise e interpretação de dados através de entrevistas semi-directivas no contexto da investigação científica em geral e qualitativa em particular; aprofundar e actualizar competências metodológicas de base necessárias à reflexão crítica sobre a natureza, contextos de recolha, vantagens e limitações dos dados obtidos através da aplicação da técnica da entrevista semi-directiva em áreas disciplinares diversas e contextos múltiplos da investigação científica, actividade académica e profissional.

The Call for Marie Curie Action Fellowships was launched a few weeks ago (http://ec.europa.eu/research/mariecurieactions/apply-now/open-calls/index_en.htm). It is a great, international, and competitive contest, which gives an unique opportunity for researchers to move in a new country and develop their own project in cooperation with a local host centre. The Centro Interdisciplinar de História, Culturas, Sociedades of the University of Evora (CIDEHUS.UE) – www.cidehus.uevora.pt - in Portugal will be very glad to receive applicants from aboard for this European Call.

A Biblioteca 2.0: oportunidades e desafios para as bibliotecas do século XXI
As Conferências do Cenáculo, já na sua 6ª edição, dão continuidade à colaboração iniciada em 2004 entre a BPE e o CIDEHUS.UÉ. Têm tido até à data modelos diferentes, mas integram sempre o contributo de investigadores de Unidades de Investigação da Universidade de Évora que se dedicam à investigação sobre fundos e questões relacionadas quer com a BPE em particular, quer com as bibliotecas em geral. Para além de apresentar uma reflexão sobre os estudos realizados, estas conferências sugerem igualmente pistas e caminhos para investigações futuras. É, de certo modo, uma forma de prestar contas, ou uma devolução dos conhecimentos adquiridos e das experiências recolhidas, à BPE, aos utilizadores, aos estudantes e à cidade.
