  Repetition/s: Performance and Philosophy in Ljubljana

  Contemporary developments in the increasingly intertwined fields of philosophy and performance call for a renewed inquiry into the question of repetition. With its unique critique of ideology arising from a synthesis of German Idealism and Lacanian psychoanalysis, the Ljubljana School (Dolar, Zupančič, Žižek et al.) continues to furnish important theorisations of repetition and performance as they pertain to subjectivity and the political. One of the primary aims of “Repetition/s” will be to investigate and develop the usefulness of the Ljubljana School’s theorisations for the emerging field of Performance Philosophy.

  Politicizing the Future of the (Semantic) Web

  Philoweb 2015

  The relationship between the Web and philosophy is now at a crucial turning point. While a group of philosophers and philosophically-influenced scholars are increasingly interested in the Web, we are facing unprecedented challenges around its future that requires concerted efforts between researcher and disciplines to be properly addressed. With both Internet governance and the very architecture of the Web undergoing rapid change, now is the time for a philosophy of the Web to help to fulfill the Web’s full potential, expanding upon its fundamental principles in new terrains ranging from mass surveillance to the impact of the Internet of things.

  Identités indigènes, autochtones et nationales ?

  Représentations stratégiques, luttes politiques et enjeux épistémologiques

  Sous quelles conditions locales, de quelle manière, par quels acteurs, et avec quels effets symboliques et matériels les discours d’« identité » - « indigène », « autochtone », ou « nationale » - se déploient-ils actuellement dans le cadre plus général du néo-libéralisme et d’une intensification de l’exploitation capitaliste ? A partir d’enquêtes de terrain dans des pays divers, cet atelier s’efforcera d’apporter quelques éléments de réponse à cette question, et s’interrogera également sur le rôle des anthropologues dans la déconstruction et la reproduction des discours identitaires et des contextes dans lesquels ils prennent leur source.
