Eviction - pressure vs oppression?
À l’occasion de la parution récente de son dossier thématique consacré aux dépossessions foncières, la Revue internationale des études du développement vous invite à débattre des « dépossessions foncières et stratégies d’acteurs en milieu rural », en présence de deux co-coordinatrices, de plusieurs auteurs et de chercheurs et praticiens spécialistes de la question. Cet évènement académique s'inscrit dans une programmation scientifique et culturelle sur l'ensemble de la journée dans le cadre du festival Les Tropikantes au sein du pôle multi-acteurs de la Cité du développement durable.

Militantism and Re-Compositions in Latin America
Re-composition of Militantism, Militant Trajectories and Constructions of Political Elites
This dossier aims to reflect equally on two issues central to the political reconfiguration of formerly militant activism in the most recent period of Latin American history. The first concerns the phenomena of political transformation of former militants and the networks and routes used by former militant actors to politically transform themselves. Many of these have been structured around the strategic positioning of radical political commitments, in addition to the development and integration of new generations of activists into partisan life. The notion of re-composition (translated from the French reconversion) seems appropriate in order to elaborate specifically the political landscape of formal and state connections in different cultural contexts of militantism. The second issue concerns the reconfiguration of militancy in societies that have undergone neoliberal reforms imposed in the last decades of the past century and the development of new approaches to the resistance to the neoliberal state.

Political reconfigurations in Egypt between the times of events and processes
L’atelier réunira des spécialistes de l’Égypte contemporaine avec des chercheurs travaillant sur d’autres aires géographiques et susceptibles d’enrichir les thématiques principales des recompositions de la scène politique égyptienne. Il s’agira de « décentrer » l’analyse de et sur l’Égypte, mais également, à partir de l’exemple égyptien, de tenter de renouveler les questionnements scientifiques en général sur un certain nombre d’objet de recherche : le fait révolutionnaire, le vote, le mouvement social, les médias, les phénomènes de transition politique, les partis politiques, l’armée, etc.

This issue will endeavor to illustrate the strategies of the different players and forces that support or oppose these democratic aspirations, by combining various fieldwork approaches across countries. It is obvious that these democratic aspirations are not only related to politics or to regional and international geopolitics; they correspond to ethical standards and refer to a value system that appears to go beyond pre-existing factions and divides.
