  Why read Alain Testart?

  Pourquoi faut-il lire Alain Testart ? Tout un programme. Et quel programme ! Cette idée de rassembler ethnologues, archéologues, économistes, historiens du droit, sociologues, chercheurs confirmés, étudiants et chercheurs débutants est issue de plusieurs étudiants de l’Institut d’ethnologie de l’université de Strasbourg encouragés par Pierre Le Roux et Valérie Lécrivain pour l’université et pour l’Association des amis d’Alain Testart. Après lecture d’une part de l’œuvre de l’anthropologue Alain Testart, disparu en 2013, ces étudiants ont souhaité partager leur enthousiasme avec le grand public et particulièrement avec les jeunes gens qui leur ressemblent : lycéens se destinant à étudier l’anthropologie, étudiants, doctorants, chercheurs débutants, mais aussi chercheurs et enseignants professionnels ou amateurs érudits. Ce, pour les inciter à lire ou relire Alain Testart afin de découvrir ou redécouvrir une partie de l’œuvre et de la pensée de celui-ci.

  Population, time, territories (CIST2020)

  Le V^e colloque du Collège international des sciences territoriales (CIST2020) - qui se tiendra du 19 au 21 novembre 2020 sur le campus Condorcet, Paris-Aubervilliers - se propose d’aborder les enjeux théoriques, méthodologiques et pratiques soulevés par la prise en compte simultanée de la population, du temps et des territoires. Ces enjeux portent notamment sur deux défis : (1) l’agrégation des actions individuelles ou des attributs des individus au sein d’une population sur un territoire, et (2) l’intégration de la dimension temporelle dans la dynamique des populations (humaines et/ou animales) et de leurs inscriptions territoriales, à différentes échelles.

  Tastes of chocolate around the world

  How to locate, analyze and appreciate the “tastes of chocolate around the world”? This is the question we propose to investigate through an interdisciplinary approach. In order to determine the tastes of chocolate in several countries of consumption, the participation of experts and researchers scholars from different disciplines (anthropology, sociology, economy, geography, history, aromatic science, agronomy, chemistry, physiology) is required.

  Harvesting the sea : Mediterranean fishing economies societies and practices (XVth-XXIst century)

  Occupying today less than 250.000 workers for the whole Mediterranean basin, fishing activities have left their mark on the history of coastal societies since Antiquity. On the Northwestern banks, these activities have undergone significant changes since the end of the Middle Ages. From the XV^th century, a series of technological innovations accelerate the integration of fishing communities to the economies of their times. The multiplication of new actors involved in providing fishing gear, resource transformation, its distribution as well as the implementation of council politics intended to ensure urban markets supply, generates a dilatation of the fishing economies’ sphere.
