  1res rencontres interdisciplinaires sur le travail animal

  Les animaux travaillent eux aussi : telle est la proposition iconoclaste qui sera au coeur des présentations et des débats des 1^res Rencontres interdisciplinaires sur le travail animal qui auront lieu les 8 et 9 avril 2016 à Paris. En effet, des millions d'animaux participent à des activités qui relèvent du champ du travail humain et sans leur participation, voire sans leur collaboration, le travail ne pourrait être réalisé. Or, le travail des animaux reste à ce jour un invisible social et un impensé scientifique.

  1st International Symposium: Hope, Betrayal and Trust

  Part of the Research Program on: Lost Virtues, Found Vices

  This trans-disciplinary research project is interested in exploring the complex and fluid relationships between hope and trust, and how might betrayal play a productive role in this bond. As concepts, ideas or simple notions, hope and trust seem to have simultaneously lost contemporary currency while being ever more necessary in our every day lives. We seem resigned to a kind of hopelessness, seem unwilling to trust others and are ready and willing to betray whomever we might need to in order to advance our own careers or personal agendas. Yet new technologies require us to place personal information online, to communicate with strangers, and to hold onto the promise of happiness. How are our maintenance of hope, our need to trust and our willingness to betray intertwined? How are these concepts evolving?

  Paysages et utopies. Des sujets et des mondes

  Cette rencontre entre historiens, géographes, philosophes, comparatistes, civilisationnistes est centrée sur les liens entre deux concepts, « paysage » et « utopie » , en somme sur les projections sociétales, religieuses, philosophiques entre autres, des hommes sur l’écran offert par la nature en particulier, et le cosmos en général qui devient ainsi « paysage ». Le propos sera donc d’analyser dans différentes sociétés, cultures, et à différents moments de l’Histoire, comment le paysage est devenu dans les imaginaires collectifs depuis les périodes anciennes un lieu exceptionnel porteur d’espérances - une utopia - au sens littéral.

  En réponse à la création en mai 2007 en France d’un ministère associant les termes « immigration, intégration et d’identité nationale », l’AFA entend contribuer à alimenter et diffuser une réflexion comparative sur les formes contemporaines d’identitarisme d’État qui s’observent à travers le monde. Une journée d’étude le 25 octobre 2007 sera suivie d’un numéro Journal des anthropologues destiné à une diffusion large.
