  L’idée d’un ouvrage sur Oran répond à un besoin évident. Agglomération millionnaire, ville métropole, deuxième ville d’Algérie en nombre d’habitants, ville méditerranéenne par excellence, son essor, son dynamisme et ses mutations interrogent à plus d’un titre. Expression des mutations de la société algérienne, Oran peut être considéré comme un laboratoire des changements sociaux.

  Contrat doctoral sur « La politique sportive municipale bisontine (1945-2009) »

  Le sport et la ville est depuis longtemps une préoccupation de l’UPFR Sports puisqu’un colloque organisé dans le cadre des Carrefours de l’histoire du sport s’est déjà tenu à Besançon en 1996 et a donné lieu à un livre de référence dans le domaine. Quelques années plus tard, un DEA d’histoire codirigé par François Marcot et Jean-François Loudcher portait sur ce sujet. Ce travail a néanmoins donné lieu à quelques interventions et, surtout, a permis de mettre à jour les archives inédites du service municipal des sports de 1940 à 1990. Digitalisées, elles ont fourni la base à un premier travail sur « Le « système » Minjoz au prisme de la politique sportive municipale de Besançon (1945-1959) ; un gouvernement de compromis particulier ».

  The Black Metropolis, between past and future

  Race, urban planning and African-American culture in Chicago

  The colloquium will celebrate the centenary of the “Great Migration” and explore the social and cultural life of Chicago South Side and West Side from the end of the Thirties, which were marked by the cultural zenith of Bronzeville neighborhood and a series of measures for the Black community inspired by the New Deal, to the present, which is characterized by numerous private and public initiatives in favor of an urban renewal. This international and multidisciplinary colloquium seeks to reevaluate the contribution of the South Side and the West Side to the definition and evolution of the African-American identity from the beginning of the XX^th Century until the contemporary moment.
