  The social and cooperative economy in French overseas territories

  RECMA journal special issue

  Comment l’économie sociale (ESS) et solidaire s’institue-t-elle hors métropole, en relation ou en tension avec les pouvoirs locaux ? Cette institutionnalisation se heurte-t-elle à des résistances, voire des comportements centrifuges face à la tendance uniformisante de la métropole et de l’Union européenne ? Quels besoins sanitaires et quels besoins sociaux spécifiques à ces territoires est-elle amenée à prendre en charge ? Les organisations de l’ESS sont-elles des leviers pour l’emploi dans des régions marquées par un fort taux de chômage ? En quoi les spécificités des outre-mers ont-elles influencé le développement de l’ESS ou l’ont-elles limité, et vers quels axes celui-ci s’est-il orienté ? Pour répondre à ces questions, nous cherchons à réunir six articles rédigés par des chercheurs de toutes disciplines de sciences humaines.

  Globalisation and Minor Cultural Groups

  The role of so-called minority people in rethinking the future of modern societies

  Minority groups, whose way of life has historically suffered from globalization, are often cited as victims of global processes, but they are rarely studied for the techniques or technologies of accommodation and resistance they have implemented as a response to global processes— the most devastating of these processes being colonization in its various aspects. Indeed, globalist literature does not yet offer a conceptualization or theorizing of the social, cultural, political and territorial continuity of “minorized” cultures, let alone does it afford enough analytical space to these so-called cultural minorities in the process of questioning the values and practices of globalization. Therefore, this conference will participate in building more connections between different experiences  in order to think up the best alternatives to the global economic and political system in place and to the way of life brought about by global phenomena which do not work anymore.

Des contributions inscrites dans une diversité de disciplines (histoire, géographie, sociologie, économie, sciences politiques, etc.) sont sollicitées, en particulier sur les thèmes suivants : les transformations des sociétés rurales et des économies agricoles ; les origines rurales et agricoles des révolutions arabes ; l’organisation professionnelle du monde agricole ; l’agriculture et le développement territorial ; les formes alternatives de valorisation de l’espace agricole ; les défis environnementaux de l’agriculture ; le développement agricole et la sécurité alimentaire dans le monde arabe.
