Enclosure and gender

Articulant les approches historiques, juridiques et sociologiques, l’objectif de cette rencontre est de réfléchir à la manière dont les enfermements interagissent avec le genre, ce qui induit une réflexion à la fois sur le masculin, sur le féminin et sur leurs interrelations en situation d’enfermement. Il s’agit de rechercher tant ce que la clôture produit comme effets sur les conceptions du genre, que ce que, à l’inverse, le genre produit comme effets sur la clôture. La rencontre s’organisera autour de trois thématiques : du genre à la clôture ; le genre enfermé ; de la clôture aux savoirs sur le genre.

Network Religion

European Social Science History Conference 2010

This is a call for papers for the Network Religion of the next European Social Science History Conference, which will take place at the beautiful Bijloke Site in Ghent, Belgium, from 13 to 16 April 2010. The aim of the ESSHC is bringing together scholars interested in explaining historical phenomena using the methods of the social sciences. The conference is characterized by a lively exchange in many small groups, rather than by formal plenary sessions. The conference welcomes papers and sessions on any historical topic and any historical period. It is organized in 28 networks, which cover a certain topic, on of these being Religion.
