    Liv­ing un­der Em­pires: A View from Be­low

    What have Meso­pot­amian Em­pires ever done for their people? Track­ing the macro in the mi­cro

    In this workshop, we aim to take the view from below and investigate in what way imperial dynamics may have affected the lifeways of people in their territories. The basic questions of this workshop are: How did the empires of the Ancient Near East affect the lives of ordinary people in their realm?  To which extent was rural life and life in smaller towns permeated by imperial agents and policies, hence by imperial dynamics?

    Crossed Perspectives on European Borders: Mobility, security and borders

    XIIth European Days of Galatasaray

    Since 2002, the European Days of Galatasaray constitute an annual opportunity to bring together researchers interested in interdisciplinary topics related to Europe. The theme of the 12th European Days, is entitled: “Crossed Perspectives on European Borders: Mobility, security and borders”.The goal of the conference is to tackle issues such as borders, new forms of mobility, migration policies and securitization in a changing context strongly marked by the financial and economic crisis in the region.

    Les ateliers du foncier

    Centré sur les questions foncières, le Réseau des jeunes chercheurs du foncier regroupe une quarantaine de doctorants et jeunes docteurs, d’horizons disciplinaires variés (économie, droit, géographie, aménagement, etc.), travaillant sur des objets diversifiés (immobilier, agriculture, urbanisation,  propriété, financiarisation, politiques  publiques, etc.). Il permet  d’accompagner les doctorants sur le plan théorique et méthodologique. Les Ateliers du foncier sont des instances organisées trimestriellement pour permettre aux jeunes chercheurs de discuter de leurs recherches auprès de praticiens et de chercheurs confirmés. Le RJCF est ouvert à tous les jeunes chercheurs qui, dans leurs travaux s’intéressent de près ou de loin aux questions foncières.
