  Ce colloque international est organisé par la Société française d’histoire des hôpitaux (SFHH) avec le soutien de l’université Lumière Lyon 2 et les Hospices civils de Lyon. Au programme : des séances plénières et des ateliers pour vous informer et partager des retours d’expériences sur l’implantation hospitalière dans l’espace urbain ; l’hôpital dans la ville (XIII^e-XIX^e siècles) ; hospitalisation et déshospitalisation ; la révolution radiologique : conséquences sur les soins médicaux et l’organisation de l’hôpital pendant et après la Grande Guerre ; approches spatiales et politiques de l’hospitalisation ; le musée hospitalier dans la ville ; les politiques hospitalières et leurs impacts économique, politique, social et culturel.

  Rehabilitating transnational cultural assets in Europe - Strasbourg municipal baths (1908/10)

  Perspectives for documentation and future exploitation

  Les bains municipaux de Strasbourg (1908/10) sont un parimoine culturel transnational d'un genre unique au monde. Fleuron de la politique sociale très progressiste de la municipalité alsacienne au temps du Reichsland allemand, ils comprennent deux bassins, des bains-douches, des bains romains, ainsi qu'une aile médicale. Restés quasiment intacts durant leur service ininterrompu depuis plus de cent ans, ils doivent subir une rénovation importante afin de pouvoir continuer à fonctionner. Au moment où la Ville de Strasbourg discute de la meilleure façon pour préparer ce patrimoine pour l'avenir, une perspective franco-allemande a pour objectif d'esquisser des perspectives d'action sur le fonds de rénovations qui ont déjà eu lieu en Allemagne.

  The Noses and Eyes of the City

  Reinterpreting Early Modern Politics and Administrative Practices of Hygiene

  The Specialist Session welcomes contributions that deal with questions of medical and administrative debates and with techniques of controlling and monitoring of the urban space by city authorities and the urban population. The aim is to create a basis for understanding contemporary hygienic assumptions concerning life in urban spaces. The papers may be focused on questions of practice, concerning the contemporary considerations to improve city space, political agenda, procedures to implement them and the “instruments” – that is most importantly: the use of senses – to control the implementation. The Contributions of this session will therefore challenge the “modern”, deprecated view on early modern hygienic questions and replace it with a view that is based on contemporary theories and contemporary instruments: the noses and eyes of the city.
