  Seminar HOME II

  After a first series of seminars called Home: Heaven and Hell that explored the relations of a subject to his places of origin in contemporary narratives, a next series of HOME will dwell on the reconstruction of an imagined home. What characterizes this new home that follows the wandering, exile or migration? This time under the title of Home Away From Home, a second series of seminars wishes to examine present-day literary and artistic representations of adopted spaces as to understand how these representations emerge in interaction with a subject who is confronted with a territorial quest that is coming to an end.

  Stages of Utopia and Dissent, 50 years on...

  15 May 1968: the Odeon theatre in Paris is occupied by students and becomes the insurgent headquarters where every night militants recount the days' action in occupied factories to an audience of people camping in the auditorium. Youth rebellion was never as mythologised as that of the French students’ fight against institutional oppression. The effects were felt across the Channel, too – but the nature of those effects was, and remains, disputed. 50 years on… where are we? What remains of autogestion and emancipatory education? What remains of theatre inventiveness and sedition? What remains of a need for participatory audiences? What remains of utopia and dissent?

  Cycle de conférence par François Jullien

  Le commun est un concept lié à l’organisation de la société. Depuis le début des années 2000, l’idée du « commun » revient au cœur des débats. Dans un monde de plus en plus global et multiculturel, relancer et promouvoir l’idée du commun constitue un enjeu majeur. Promoteur de la citoyenneté dans tous les espaces de la société, le commun nait de la volonté de partager. Comment produire du commun ? Le commun est-il le semblable ? Quelle universalité à donner à l’idée du commun ? Comment concevoir le dialogue entre les cultures ? Le commun : entre individualisme et communautarisme ? Conçu comme un parcours balisé autour de la pensée de François Jullien, ce cycle plonge l’auditeur autour des concepts forgés par le philosophe français qui éclairent aujourd’hui la pensée contemporaine, et qui permettent de réactiver l’idée du commun propice à une société plus unie et solidaire.

  Comment penser l’anthropocène ?

  Anthropologues, philosophes et sociologues face au changement climatique.

  En décembre 2015, la 21ème Conférence des parties sur le climat, communément appelée COP21, se tiendra au Bourget, près de Paris. Cette conférence suscite autant de craintes, que d’espoirs : beaucoup considèrent qu’elle représente la dernière chance d’arriver à un accord contraignant sur la réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre, afin d’éviter une hausse trop importante des températures, qui aurait des effets catastrophiques.

  C’est dans la perspective d’une mobilisation de tous les efforts autour d’une solution positive, que nous appelons à un colloque international, réunissant philosophes, anthropologues et sociologues, qui se tiendra à Paris, au Collège de France, le 5 et 6 novembre 2015.

  What instruments for amateurs in the context of "fablabs"?

  Cette conférence coordonnée par l’Institut de recherche et d’innovation du Centre Pompidou s'inscrit dans le cadre du projet FabLab2 (http://fablabsquared.org/). Elle portera sur la figure de l’amateur dans les Fablabs et s’interrogera sur la manière dont on peut l’accompagner (conceptuellement, institutionnellement, technologiquement), ainsi que sur la portée sociétale de ce mouvement de réappropriation des technologies.
