  Home Away From Home

  Seminar HOME II

  After a first series of seminars called Home: Heaven and Hell that explored the relations of a subject to his places of origin in contemporary narratives, a next series of HOME will dwell on the reconstruction of an imagined home. What characterizes this new home that follows the wandering, exile or migration? This time under the title of Home Away From Home, a second series of seminars wishes to examine present-day literary and artistic representations of adopted spaces as to understand how these representations emerge in interaction with a subject who is confronted with a territorial quest that is coming to an end.

  Philosopher avec les séries télévisées

  Le cycle de colloques « Philosopher avec les séries télévisées » initié en 2009 avec Buffy, tueuse de vampires se propose d’analyser à chaque fois une série télévisée déterminée, sur un mode à la fois monographique et interdisciplinaire. Nous renouons le 8 juillet 2014 avec Joss Whedon via une journée d'étude sur sa série intitulée Dollhouse (2009-2010). Celle-ci, partant de l'analogie fondatrice du cerveau et de l'ordinateur, spécule sur les applications d'une technologie qui permettrait de copier, effacer et transférer à volonté d'un corps à l'autre mémoires et personnalités. Des « dolls » (« poupées ») louent alors un temps leur corps à l'imprégnation successive de ces personnalités (amoureuse, experte en kidnapping, cambrioleuse, etc.) qui les rendent capables d'accomplir les missions les plus variées.
