  The gender of singlehood

  À l’automne 2021, ce colloque transdisplinaire entend renouveller l’approche des célibats. Refusant une définition en négatif de l’alliance, définition qui passe forcément à côté de toutes les nuances et complexités du célibat, ces deux journées pluridisciplinaires seront l’occasion de bâtir un outillage théorique commun. En créant le dialogue entre les disciplines, entre les périodes historiques et les aires culturelles, ce colloque souhaite montrer la pluralité des situations de célibat. Une confrontation des célibats féminins et masculins devrait également permettre de sortir des stéréotypes du vieux garçon et de la vieille fille.

  The Multidisciplinary Grid 2020 Conference

  The conference is aimed at examining the ‘grid’ as a cross-disciplinary theme with a multiplicity of expressions in terms of definitions, concepts, perceptions, representations, and histories. The ‘grid’ has played a significant role in shaping the spatial imaginaries of a wide range of fields: from Hippodamus of Miletus to the Cartesian revolution in mathematics, from the visual arts to archaeology to 'smart cities' and artificial intelligence. As the 'grid' has become an all-encompassing term, signifying a vast array of infrastructural and communication networks through which contemporary life is mediated and controlled, it is commonly viewed as a quintessential symbol of modernity. The conference strives to explore a new horizon of relationships and fusion of the ‘grids’ in these areas as manifested between humans, between machines, and between humans and machines ‒ bridging philosophical, cultural, pedagogical, technical and ethical issues.

  The Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) is launching a call for projects dedicated to innovative themes in the humanities and social sciences (SHS): Digital Humanities; Philanthropy and Education; Ecological Transition and Social Justice. This call for projects is a feature of one of the main missions of the FMSH, which is to provide scientific and material support to research projects that are in the early stages of their development and can use the support of the FMSH to develop further their scientific content, methodology, and research networks.

  A sociocritical approach to digital technology in education - issues and questions

  Depuis de nombreuses années, le numérique participe à la transformation de l’éducation. De nouveaux outils sont utilisés pour enrichir et diversifier les pratiques pédagogiques actuelles et leur usage connaît un accroissement exponentiel. Si de nombreuses institutions éducatives s’engagent dans la voie du numérique - les derniers exemples sont l’arrivée des vidéos pédagogiques, des réseaux sociaux ainsi que des MOOCs - peu sont celles toutefois qui savent prendre le temps de la réflexion. L’objectif du collectif d’enseignants-chercheurs qui s’est récemment constitué autour d’une approche sociocrique du numérique en éducation, est d’étudier de près les phénomènes de résistance trop souvent ignorés, les tensions, mais aussi les « impensés », ces notions qui semblent aller de soi, mais qui cachent des réalités bien plus complexes qu’il n’y parait.
