  Doctoral seminar of the LACTH - 2018-2019

  Le séminaire doctoral du LACTH (laboratoire de recherche de l'école nationale supérieure d'architecture et de paysage de Lille) prend appui sur les différents domaines du laboratoire (conception, territoire, histoire et matérialité), il offre une plateforme d'échanges et de confrontations des travaux de recherche passés et en cours. Obligatoire pour les doctorants du LACTH (20h/an), le séminaire doctoral est ouvert aux étudiant·e·s de master de l'ENSAPL et à tous les partenaires scientifiques du LACTH (enseignant·e·s-chercheur·e·s, doctorant·e·s).

  Landscapes of the strange

  Art and research relating to the visible and invisible traces of conflicts - interdisciplinary and inter-artistic approaches to war heritag

  This symposium is part of the research project “landscape(s) of the strange. On visible and invisible traces of a regional heritage in transformation. Artistic and theoretical (re)-constructions of a cross-border history marked by major conflicts” started in 2016. To begin with, the project approached the notion of “trace” or “mark” in its material (heritage, architecture, vegetation) and immaterial (memory, culture) dimensions, especially those related to the concrete landscape of Lorraine which bears the mark of a conflictual history opposing Frenchmen and Germans, especially during the two World Wars.

  Defining European Eco-criticism

  The aim of this international conference is to make visible the variegated sprouting of European Eco-criticism —a name that is given as a working hypothesis for the time being. American-born Eco-criticism seems to be gradually filtering into Old World languages and cultural contexts ; but it has different meanings in different places. Hence, an assessment of this major theoretical transduction appears to be highly opportune. The goal is to give a geographical dimension to this framework, and contributors are invited to investigate national, regional, and local particularities of eco-literature, be it in the guise of fiction, non-fiction, or criticism, bearing in mind that literatures outside the English-speaking world will be given priority.

  Premières Rencontres d’histoire de l’environnement en Belgique

  L’histoire environnementale est un secteur de la recherche qui n’a pas encore acquis la place qui lui revient eu égard aux défis environnementaux qui sont les nôtres. Ce colloque entend y remédier. Il s’articule autour de quatre axes : « Concepts, notions & historiographiques » ; « Des équipes, des bilans » ; « Études de cas, perspectives nouvelles » ; « Sources et méthodes ». Il accueille des communications riches et variées, tant conceptuelles (environnement, développement durable), qu’historiographiques, analytiques ou méthodologiques relatives aux paysages (forêts, jardins, parcs naturels…), aux transformations des milieux urbains ou ruraux, à l’impact industriel, à la pollution et à la gestion des eaux, de l’air, des sols, à la sensibilité environnementale, au tourisme. Il a aussi pour objectif de mieux faire connaître les sources qui s’offrent au chercheur : archives de l’écologie politique, fonds des administrations, traces archéologiques, documents cartographiques, etc. Les espaces concernés sont ceux de la Belgique et du Luxembourg, mais aussi du Congo, du Rwanda et du Burundi dont l’histoire a été intimement mêlée.
