Francophone seminar of the Groupe européen d'administration publique (GEAP)
The French-Speaking Seminar (F2S) provides a unique opportunity for debates in French within European Group of Public Administration’s annual congress. While open to English contributions, it confirms our wider community’s interest for a linguistic space that provides alternative vocabulary, patterns of thought, scientific approaches and norms, and political-administrative cultures. As a group, the seminar listens closely to the issues and needs of the practitioners of public management, and is dedicated to its scientific mission of knowledge renewal and enhancement. Hence, we invite researchers and confirmed practitioners to dialogue across scientific sessions, round tables, and a variety of professional accounts from the field.

Identities, Democracy, Borders
Within Europe, a relatively indeterminate contours’ space, efforts to integrate and to bound the people and the political systems have yielded tangible results in political, economic, social and cultural matters. The objectives were consensual, such as to ensure lasting peace, economic growth and global security, as well as the freedom to act, to undertake and to think. Yet some may think that the integration has been made too hastily – especially to the east, creating new differentiations: East/West, adding to an older North/South. This analytical prism however is reducing because it largely ignores internal disparities in most national territories.

Exchanges, Cooperations, Policies: The Euromed of knowledge

Methods for synthesizing knowledge
Tools of Evidence-based policy
The Network of Researchers on Policy and Programme Evaluation of the French Evaluation Society is pleased to invite you to a free research seminar on: Methods for Synthesizing Knowledge, to beheld on December 10th 2012 at Paris-Dauphine University, Amphitheater 11. The promotion of evidence-based policy by an increasing number of national governments and international organisations has triggered the issues of gathering available evidence on the impact of public interventions, assessing its credibility, and providing policy-makers with knowledge syntheses. Two state-of-art methods have emerged up to date. The first approach builds on the tools of evidence based medicine: systematic review and meta-analysis. The second approach, called realist synthesis, is rooted in social sciences methodologies. This research seminar will present and discuss the available methods (see programme below).
