La question de la crédibilité de la recherche scientifique à l'heure des « faits alternatifs »
Post-vérité ? La notion, popularisée en 2016, année marquée par le Brexit et l’élection de Donald Trump à la présidence des États-Unis, désigne une configuration politique et médiatique dans laquelle la crédibilité d’un discours repose moins sur son adéquation aux faits que sur sa correspondance avec les croyances et les pulsions émotives. Le phénomène interroge la place de la recherche scientifique dans le débat public et politique. Pour faire face aux défis générés par ce phénomène, des chercheurs de toutes disciplines unissent leur force pour organiser un colloque les 5 et 6 octobre 2021 sur le campus bordelais, dans le cadre des trente ans de l’Institut universitaire de France.

The subject of this international conference is the participation of women in the development of scientific ideas from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment. It welcomes reflections on women’s intellectual contributions to the creation of the « Republic of Letters », and how female curiosity was connected to the development of a new rationality that opened new paths towards modern science, while simultaneously being stimulated by the marvellous and the strange, as was manifest in the creation of scientific cabinets and collections of rare objects. It aims at encouraging reflections on the concept of female scientific curiosity. This will allow us to discuss the construction of a female subjectivity emerged from new approaches towards collections of naturalia.

The Middle Ages of the Social Sciences
The present issue of the Revue d’histoire des sciences humaines intends to gather inquiries into specific uses of the Middle Ages in twentieth century social sciences. The reference to the Middle Ages may result from a scholarly acquaintance with the medieval world, as well as from tools forged by medieval studies. Alternatively, it may be correlated with intricate cultural mediations, for example through religion or literature. We would like to invite the practitioners of the various disciplines of the SSH (psychoanalysis, sociology, historical anthropology, history, the history of science and knowledge, art history, and philosophy, among others) to contribute to this issue either with a case study, or with a broader methodological or epistemological reflection on their scientific and knowledge practices envisioned from an historical point of view.

The perception of scandals and silences change over time. What was once a silence can now be seen as scandalous. The committee invites graduate students from any field to submit proposals on a range of subjects including (but not limited to): To understand and theorise historical and current events, characters, and movements considered scandalous as well as their evolution over time; To analyse and shed light on the silenced, the forgotten and the marginalised in history and historical research; To explore the historiographical and epistemological issues related more broadly to the concepts of scandal and silence, but also disruptive approaches to the humanities.

The conference Transmission of knowledge on fish and aquatic animals, texts and images (Antiquity, Middle Ages, 16th century) will be the closing event of GDRI Zoomathia, which ends at the end of 2021. The Zoomathia 2021 conference in Caen, organized by the ICHTYA program of Craham, is an extension of the 2017 conference.This conference wishes to emphasize, without being limited to ichthyofauna, on the scientific contribution of ancient sources on aquafauna in the broad sense and the biological and ecological knowledge of the species that compose it; the transmission and diachronic evolution of scholarly data on this fauna through the various knowledge media (texts, iconography - mosaics, illuminated manuscripts, early printed books and engravings, etc.); the mode of representation and identification of marine animals species permitted by old documents and related methodological issues.

Imagination and mental construction - the manufacture of scientific discourse
La fabrique du discours scientifique
L'imagination et la construction mentale sont des processus tous deux attachés à l’élaboration du discours scientifique et jouent un rôle crucial dans la recherche scientifique. De l’imagination résulte une représentation intérieure reposant sur l’association de souvenirs, d’expériences et de sensations, tandis que la construction mentale vise à l’élaboration d’objets physiques et de systèmes de pensées. C’est en faisant appel à ces deux notions que les groupes humains ont bâti des pensées symboliques, modelé et exploité leur environnement et ont pu concevoir de nouveaux objets à partir de matériaux bruts. Plus encore, c’est par elles qu’ils ont fondé leurs discours, qui nous sont parvenus aujourd’hui sous forme écrite et matérielle. L’objet de cette journée d’étude sera d’interroger la place de ces deux concepts à la fois dans les sociétés et les groupes humains, et dans l’élaboration d’une réalité construite, le discours scientifique.

Born of a common set of intentions that emerged “from the four corners of the world”, the project of this journal responds to the desire to make or create “space” to and for thought. And since thought can only be said “thought” on the condition that it becomes the “thought of all” - and not, therefore, the exclusive (private) property of some - Philosophy World Democracy must be an accessible, international and, therefore, multilingual journal. Thus, one of the objectives of our project will be to “multiply” these “four corners of the world” from which this project was initially conceived. Philosophy World Democracy will therefore have to be a space of unconditiona welcome - of hospitality, therefore - both for writing and for reading, beyond any attempt to prioritize thought to which it is too often subjected today.

PJCV seeks articles exploring themes of conflict and violence in the life, work, thought, and intellectual legacy of Jacques Ellul (1912-1994). An “atypical, uncategorizable thinker, transgressing disciplinary borders” (François Dosse), Ellul penned a vast corpus of provocative and original writings in two broad categories: first, sociological writings analyzing elements of twentieth-century western society as expressions of technique (understood as a rational and willful drive will towards ordered efficiency); second, essays in protestant theological ethics and meditative biblical interpretation. These writings bring the voices of Ellul’s three major influences—Søren Kierkegaard, Karl Marx, and the Swiss Protestant theologian Karl Barth—into stimulating dialectical conversation about politics, technology, art, media, communications, institutional evolution, morality, language, anarchy, revolution, urbanism—and notably, violence.

Ce dossier thématique pour la Revue d'histoire des sciences humaines vise à interroger les conditions par lesquelles se sont forgés les savoirs disciplinaires sur le film et le cinéma (en sociologie, psychologie, histoire, géographie, philosophie, esthétique, médecine, etc.) en réunissant des contributions qui pourraient adopter plusieurs points de vue, non exclusifs : des itinéraires de personnalités (célèbres ou méconnues), des lieux ouvertement dédiés à la diffusion, à la pratique et à l’étude du cinéma, ou développant des activités en lien avec le cinéma sans y être totalement dédiés, des expérimentations techniques, des films.

Documents and documentation: retro-prospective approach
L'objectif du colloque « Documents et documentation, approche rétro-prospective » est d'interroger le paradigme documentaire dans la première partie du XXe siècle et ses résurgences dans la période contemporaine, sous la forme proclamée ici ou là du « retour au document ». À travers une approche pluridisciplinaire (sciences de l'information et de la communication, histoire, arts, documentation), trois axes de recherche nous permettront de répondre aux enjeux spécifiques liés à ce concept de paradigme documentaire : les formes et matérialités qui résultent des innovations techniques et industrielles ; le renouvellement des modalités de visualisation de la connaissance, entendue comme nouveau langage et enfin l’articulation entre lieux de savoirs et lieux de pouvoirs.

La fabrique du discours scientifique
La journée des doctorants de la Fédération des sciences archéologiques de Bordeaux (F.S.A.B.) est une manifestation annuelle organisée depuis 2012 par des doctorant·e·s des quatre laboratoires de la fédération : Archéovision, Ausonius, IRAMAT-CRP2A et PACEA. Pour sa VIIIe édition, qui aura lieu le 5 mai 2020, nous proposons une journée d’étude intitulée « Imagination et construction mentale : la fabrique du discours scientifique ». L’objet de cette journée d’étude sera d’interroger la place de ces deux concepts à la fois dans les sociétés et les groupes humains, et dans l’élaboration d’une réalité construite, le discours scientifique. Cet appel à communication est à destination des doctorant·e·s en sciences archéologiques portant sur toute période historique et toute zone géographique. Les contributions de toutes disciplines sont également bienvenues et vivement encouragées dans le cadre d’une discussion interdisciplinaire.

Chaque année, le congrès national des sociétés historiques et scientifiques, lieu de rencontre et d’échange unique dans le paysage de la recherche française, rassemble des spécialistes issus de très nombreuses disciplines : histoire, géographie, sciences, ethnologie, anthropologie, préhistoire et protohistoire, archéologie, philologie, histoire de l’art, environnement, etc. Il accueille également des jeunes chercheurs (dont c’est parfois la première intervention publique) et des érudits locaux : la confrontation des regards, des expériences et des approches méthodologiques explique la singularité de ce congrès.

Pour son 73e congrès, qui aura lieu à Orford en Estrie les 15, 16 et 17 octobre 2020, l'Institut d'histoire de l'Amérique française sollicite des communications qui mobilisent la notion d’événement, mais également qui la mettent à l’épreuve et la questionnent, des communications qui cherchent à révéler des aspects méconnus d’événements bien enracinés dans les récits historiques, mais également qui mettent ou remettent en scène des événements oubliés de l’historiographie ou de la mémoire collective, des communications qui réfléchissent à la manière dont l’événement est fabriqué, historicisé. Au final, nous n’avons pas à choisir entre l’événement et la longue durée, mais il y a certainement une nécessité de réfléchir à la place de l’événement dans la longue durée.
