Who named the gods? Utterers, addressers, ritual agents
The ERC MAP Seminar “The Names of the Gods! 5: Who named the gods? Utterers, addressers, ritual agents” pursues the investigation on the systems of naming of the divine. This year, it focuses on the human agents in the process of naming the divine, whether they are producers of a discourse on the deities, addressers in a communication with the deities, or even experts in charge of a ritual knowledge. What agency do men and women exercise in the production of a specific denomination of the divine? How can we question their choices, their anchoring in a tradition or their innovation strategies?

Actions, objects, relations: an interdisciplinary perspective
Cet atelier doctoral vise à dégager des pistes pour repenser la citoyenneté en Méditerranée, en désincrustant celle-ci des essentialisations culturelles, des épistémès disciplinaires, et des traditions historiographiques nationales. Il part d’une définition large de la citoyenneté, qui ne se restreint pas à l’obtention d’un statut conditionnant l’exercice de droits politiques, mais qui prend en compte les processus de construction des droits d’accès aux ressources locales (telles que le travail, le logement, l’assistance etc.). En adoptant une perspective interdisciplinaire, ce projet veut faire dialoguer, à partir de terrains géographiques et d’époques différentes, des conditions d’affirmation citoyenne formalisées par l’inégal droit d’accès aux ressources locales.

Ce colloque international est consacré à l’étude des rumeurs et des renommées dans le « monde biblique », c’est-à-dire d’une part dans les textes bibliques et apparentés (Bible hébraïque, Bible grecque, Nouveau Testament, littératures intertestamentaire et apocryphe etc.), et relativement à leurs différents contextes sociohistoriques de production (Proche-Orient et Méditerranée), et d’autre part, dans le cadre des réceptions les plus immédiates de ces textes, principalement au sein des communautés juives et chrétiennes antiques.

L’université euro-Méditerranéenne 2015, organisée à Marseille (MuCEM) du 19 au 25 juillet prochains aura pour thème « Frontières, altérités et identités en Méditerranée ». Durant cette semaine, les étudiants suivront et discuteront en matinée des conférences données par des professeurs (des universités partenaires, mais aussi des professeurs invités). L’après-midi, les étudiants travailleront par groupes en ateliers théâtre et/ou écriture.

Contestations, Emotions! Social and artistic expressions in the Public Space
A theoretical and practical perspective from the ground
During the recent movements of contestation in Mediterranean countries different kind of aesthetic gestures using the streets and the public spaces as places for a public manifestation of some social, ordinary -or radical- critic. They proceed from an ordinary culture that is transformed, adapted then spread out upon a new form in artistic tracks taking place in public spaces. These actions have both a critical and aesthetic dimension. They rely on the environment, mobilize cognitive, memorial and cultural or ordinary patterns. They also mobilize a common culture . This is the case of rap, new uses of old music, villages against occupation, graphic art in Palestine, in Egypt or in Syria. The conference will present and analyse some forms of experimentations, and public and critical commitments. What kind of “public spaces” is in use nowadays? How it configures new spaces of critic and public space and a new environment ? The panel will adopt a trans-disciplinary perspective by bringing together social scientists and practicers or activists.

Individual Rites of Passage in the Ancient Near East
Le colloque international « Vivre, grandir et mourir dans l'Antiquité » réunira, les 23, 24, et 25 novembre 2011 à la MISHA de Strasbourg de nombreux spécialistes des rites de passage du Proche-Orient (monde cunéiforme et Egypte) et du monde gréco-romain. Au croisement de la philologie, de l'archéologie, de l'histoire des religions et de l'anthropologie sociale, il cherchera à définir certaines des modalités de la « fabrication » de l'humain. -

Journées doctorales du Centre d'histoire sociale de l'islam méditerranéen - 2009
Les étudiants, doctorants et post-doctorants du Centre d'histoire sociale de l'islamméditerranéen reconduisent cette année la tradition des Journées doctorales dulaboratoire. Les débats se tiendront le 08 Juin 2009 à l'EHESS, au 105 et au 96 sous la forme de tables rondes. Les sujets proposés par les étudiants et doctorants participant à la journée seront suivis et commentés par des discutants, membres du laboratoire ou invités par les organisateurs. Pour cette journée, deux thématiques ont été retenues : 1) images de soi, images de l'autre ; 2) l'iconographie et le politique. Les propositions retenues à la suite de cet appel s'ajouteront aux interventions prévues par les étudiants participants du CHSIM etporteront sur le domaine islamique et le monde méditerranéen sans s'y limiter nécessairement.
