APAD Conference
After the Roskilde conference in 2018, devoted to mobility and migration, the Association for the Anthropology of Social Change and Development (APAD) proposes for its 2020 edition, co-organized with the Department of Anthropology and African Studies of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences (FSHS) of the University of Lomé (Togo), to focus on the multiple forms of large-scale circulation of goods, ideas, techniques, information and models that increasingly cross the global South and link it to the rest of the world. Panels or papers focusing on smaller-scale, regional or neighbouring countries' circulations, or showing the consequences of scale change in circulations, are also welcome.

La Revista Regiones y Desarrollo Sustentable del Colegio de Tlaxcala, A.C., es una revista semestral, fundada en el 2001, que busca contribuir a la promoción de un desarrollo regional con equidad y sustentabilidad en diferentes latitudes. En fecha reciente, ingresó al Sistema de Clasificación de Revistas Mexicanas de Ciencia y Tecnología como Revista en Desarrollo. También se encuentra indexada en cinco sistemas internacionales, lo que garantiza la calidad académica y visibilidad de la revista. Por este medio les invitamos a enviar propuestas de artículos científicos, estados del arte, ensayos y/o reseñas, para ser consideradas para publicación en el número 41.

Thinking the Latin American right wings
IVth International Congress
The IVth International Congress Thinking the Latin American right wings follows the three previous ones held in France (2014), Argentina (2016) and Brazil (2018), which have permitted the constitution of a community of researchers working on Latin American right-wings. Several specialists from different countries and disciplines have joined in this network, in order to promote projects and studies on this theme, and stimulated the development of new issues related to this political family. The use of various methodologies such as the analysis of political traditions and cultures, representations and imaginaries, identities, networks, sensitivities and memories have made it possible to consolidate a field of study that has become relevant to understand current Latin American political scene.

Seeing Politics through Intermediation and Intermediaries
This seminar proposes to look at politics through the lens of political intermediaries and what they do, i.e. intermediation. Intermediaries can be defined as an assorted group of actors (political brokers, political parties, interest groups, movements) who acts as a hinge between two or more levels, actors or social institutions; while intermediation , as a process, encompasses all the mediations that these actors perform in order to keep the political system intact (Zaremberg, Guarneros-Meza, and Lavalle 2017; Gunther, Puhle, and Montero 2007; Kitschelt 2004; Smith 2007). The question we are interested in relates to the transformations in the roles of these agents and processes of mediation since the neo-liberal transformation has engulfed the processes of public policy formulation, contestation and enactment.

Tribute to Étienne Tassin
Le monde, selon Étienne Tassin (1955-2018), est le commun qui se tisse entre des acteurs et des actrices qui ne partagent aucune communauté préalable, mais qui fait naitre un réseau de relations accueillant la division et la conflictualité. Agir politiquement n’est pas se soucier de soi mais se soucier du monde, dans une perspective cosmo-politique, réactivée de nos jours comme « politique des étrangers non pas faite à leur intention mais en leur compagnie ». Corrélativement, « prendre soin du monde, Amor mundi », désigne aussi « la signification politique de l’activité de penser ». Qui était Étienne ? Que nous donnent à penser l’œuvre qu’il laisse mais aussi sa façon d’être au monde ? Venu-e-s pour une part d’Outre-mer, d’Outre-Atlantique et d’Afrique, ceux et celles qui lui rendront hommage tenteront d’en témoigner.

Left-wing radicalism in the United States: a foreign creed?
Special Issue, “Transatlantica” (journal of American Studies)
This Transatlantica issue will analyze the way in which the construction of radicalism as foreign to US-American identity was received by radicals themselves, to see how they reacted to the branding of their beliefs as un-American, and how they devised counter-discourses in order to Americanize their ideas, sometimes leading to conflict and contradiction. How can the language of patriotism be combined with a belief in internationalism ? What coalitions, what political alliances can be built while maintaining a revolutionary stance ? How can the class struggle be rooted in a discourse on US-American society without succumbing to the sirens of exceptionalism ?

Facing up to discriminations - experiences and demobilisations in popular districts
Expériences et (dé)mobilisations dans les quartiers populaires
Ce colloque constitue l’évènement scientifique de clôture du projet de recherche ANR EODIPAR « Expérience des discrimination, participation et représentation » (EODIPAR) coordonné par le collectif « Discriminations, racismes, engagements et mobilisations » (DREAM). Les première et troisième journées seront consacrées à la présentation des résultats de l’enquête collective comparative menée dans neuf quartiers populaires en France (Le Blanc Mesnil, Lormont, Mistral à Grenoble, Roubaix, Vaulx-en-Velin, Villepinte) en Angleterre (Londres), au Canada (Montréal) et aux États-Unis (Los Angeles) entre 2015 et 2018. Reposant sur 250 entretiens biographiques et l’observation d’une quinzaine de collectifs militants et de dispositifs d’action publique, ces recherches seront discutées par des cherheur·e·s spécialistes de ces questions. La deuxième journée d’étude, ouverte suite à un appel à communication, sera consacrée à la question des formes de disqualification et de répression qui affectent les mobilisations de minorités et issues de quartiers populaires.

IdeAs journal n°14
Issue no. 14 of IdeAs. Idées d’Amériques (September-October 2019) will focus on “Populisms in the Americas”. This issue’s main purpose is to help identify the criteria according to which populism can be defined, through examples from North and South America, at a time when populism has become a key notion when analyzing political and social evolutions of most American and European countries. We receive article proposals about all North and Latin American countries, written in French, English, Spanish or Portuguese.

Nombre d’actrices et d’acteurs, sans s’inscrire dans un militantisme organisé, mobilisent des discours sur le genre et les femmes pour intervenir dans leurs domaines d’activité propres (médias, politique, médecine, justice, etc.). Dans quelle mesure ces jeux sur et avec le genre, ces usages - et mésusages - contribuent-ils in fine à façonner les rapports sociaux de sexe ? Les discours ordinaires (au sens où ils ne sont pas organisés sous une forme militante explicite, mais sont liés aux rapports sociaux quotidiens) sur les excès et effets pervers du féminisme, ou encore le déni du genre comme catégorie d’analyse pertinente, les propos tenus sur les femmes (qu’ils soient positifs ou négatifs) constituent autant d’appropriations ordinaires des rapports sociaux de sexe et des luttes qui en sont l’objet.

Este volumen pretende reunir artículos originales (no publicados ni en evaluación en otra revista científica) que aborden de manera multidisciplinar y analítica los modos del ejercicio de poder en democracias iliberales del continente latinoamericano y las lógicas de incremento de sus dinámicas.

Haïti: An Earthquake for Gender

This special issue aims at bringing to light scientific knowledge which counterbalances thestereotyping of Haitian and Caribbean women’s rights. For centuries, Haitian women have beendeeply marked by the geostrategic interests of various world powers, and they are still the object of narratives whose androcentrism is explicit. This sp ecial issue will provide an opportunity to debate Haitian women’s varied experiencesthrough new epistemic and political postures, questioning western perceptions of Haiti. Thus, it will contribute to developing research largely based on practices, experiences, ideas, and theories produced in the Caribbean with an awareness for the logics of coloniality. The aim will be to bring to light an emerging literature in Haiti and, more broadly, in the French-speaking Caribbean. It will also place recent changes in the context of structural historicity, what tookplace since 2010 also being explained by structural mutations which began prior to the earthquake.

2013, the year is not over yet?
Appraisal and perspectives, 5 years after the June protests in Brazil
L’Association des chercheurs et étudiants brésiliens en France (APEB-FR) a le plaisir de vous inviter à envoyer des propositions pour sa prochaine journée d’études « 2013, l’année qui n’est pas terminée ? Bilan et perspectives après cinq années des Journées de Juin au Brésil » , qui aura lieu le 2 juin 2018 à Paris. Cinq années se sont déroulées depuis les grandes manifestations de juin 2013 au Brésil. La vague de protestations, qui s’est répandue rapidement dans diverses villes brésiliennes, a donné lieu à ce qui deviendrait l’un des plus expressifs mouvements de rue du pays depuis les marches pour les « Diretas Já » (Élections immédiates) en 1984, ou celle des « Caras Pintadas » (Visages grimacés) en vue de la destitution du président Fernando Collor, en 1992.

Ce numéro des Cahiers des Amériques latines interroge l’articulation entre les clivages ethno-raciaux et les trajectoires sociales et politiques des trois Guyanes. Il vise à définir quand et comment les relations ethno-raciales constituent un enjeu pertinent de différenciation et de discriminations dans ces trois territoires. Sans nécessairement adopter une perspective comparée et même s’il ne porte que sur l’un de ces pays, les articles de ce dossier appréhenderont ces territoires comme un ensemble dynamique caractérisé par d’importantes circulations transfrontalières (des individus et populations, des marchandises mais aussi des mobilisations, des normes sociales et politiques…).

Cinquante ans après le colloque d'Amiens, il apparaît nécessaire pour comprendre la signification passée et présente de l'événement d'en réexaminer le contenu. Il s'agit de replacer le colloque dans l'histoire politico-éducative, nationale et internationale : dans son antériorité et sa postérité. Trois thèmes sont proposés à l'examen : contextes et acteurs ; questions en débat ; retombées sur les politiques éducatives.

L'élection de Donald Trump a été présentée de façon quasi-unanime chez les journalistes, universitaires ou chercheurs comme un désastre ou un tsunami annonciateur de temps chaotique. Le président américain a cependant bénéficié du soutien de presque la majorité des électeurs des États clefs de la « ceinture de rouille ». Il convient donc de s'interroger sur les raisons qui expliquent la survenue d'un tel phénomène. Cet appel à contributions pour la revue en ligne LISA ne vise pas à établir un bilan de la présidence Trump. On cherchera, en revanche, à approfondir les analyses d'un paradoxe politique présenté comme inédit. Des réflexions de type sociologique, politique et historique (liste non exhaustive) s'imposent. Elles mettront en valeur les transformations, évolutions et continuités qui découlent du phénomène Trump.
