Charbonneau à l'analyse critique de la modernité ; l'aide que fournit l'œuvre de B. Charbonneau pour penser les enjeux contemporains du développement technoscientifique et industriel ; les convergences et divergences intellectuelles entre son œuvre et celle de penseurs contemporains et ultérieurs ; le caractère pratique de sa pensée, qui n'est pas enfermée dans une posture théorique mais cherche des modes d'action pour construire des voies alternatives.

Biographies, Mobilities, and the Politics of Migration
Midterm conference of the Research Network “Sociology of Migration” of the European Sociological Association
Current political and media discourses on the questions of “integration”, “belonging” and “borders” are dominated by the perspectives of Western nation states. The objective of this midterm conference of the Research Network 35 “Sociology of Migration” of the European Sociological Association (ESA) is to shift the focus to the perspectives of those who are labeled and talked about in these debates and who become the target of ever-more complex and differentiated border and mobility regimes. This conference will, in other words, interrogate the way belongings and borders are presently challenged and reshaped on different levels (local, national, international) and how biographical perspectives in migration research can shed new light on these processes.

The geopolitics of religion in Camerooon
Ce projet d’ouvrage, sur la Géopolitique du fait religieux au Cameroun, veut élargir la notion de Géopolitique des religions d’Yves Lacoste (2002). Si ce dernier la circonscrit autour de territoires physiques avec expression d’une violence ouverte, nous entendons davantage la géopolitique du religieux comme l’analyse des rapports de forces de groupes se revendiquant religieux, pour la conquête de territoires physiques et symboliques, avec expression d’une violence protéiforme - ouverte, symbolique ou sournoise. Quant aux territoires de Dieu (Lasseur, 2005), qui font ainsi l’objet de rivalités de pouvoirs, ils concernent des espaces physiques, mais aussi des territoires symboliques.

Cette journée d’étude a donc pour ambition de travailler sur l’évolution du rôle des experts en politique du XIXe au XXIe siècle afin d’aborder les processus d’institutionnalisation selon une lecture moins linéaire. Nous invitons donc les participants à interroger des chronologies différenciées selon les champs d’expertises ou les domaines politiques. Jusqu’à quel point l’expert devient-il incontournable dans l’activité et la prise de décision politique ? L’expert peut-il être un vecteur de changement face au pouvoir politique ?

Zone: the space of a life on the margins
Espaces et sociétés
While the everyday of "suburban youth" occupies the attention of French sociologists, the other face of the youths that have been relegated to "dropouts" (“zonards”) remains virtually invisible in terms of the social sciences. This issue aims to provide a first synthesis of French work on “the zone” as an area of life on the margins, and a presentation of pioneering English-language research in this field of study. This will be explore the range or meanings of experiments whose originality derives from a shared nomadic lifestyle, keeping a distance from institutions, as well as normative territories. The expected proposals will favor the investigation of spaces and the constituent cultures of dropouts (squatters, punks, ravers ...).

The spatial turn in humanities has enticed various disciplines to deconstruct the making of artistic facts: studying the circulation of artworks and artists now appears to be a fertile way to uncover the rationales, the constraints and the transgressions that shape the historical geography of art. This ‘return to facts’ calls for a closer examination of the methods used to identify, collect, re-assemble and interpret the geographical information produced by artistic activity. To examine the traceability of artistic knowledge and facts is the primary aim of this issue of the Artl@s Bulletin.

The study of social vulnerabilities and vulnerable populations
RESODEMO doctoral training module
Le module de la formation doctorale RESODEMO consacrée à l’« étude des vulnérabilités sociales et des populations vulnérables » aura lieu du lundi 2 juin au mercredi 4 juin 2014 à l’Institut de démographie de l'université Paris I (Idup). Cette formation est organisée par l’Idup avec la participation du Centre de recherche de l’Idup (Cridup) et l’Institut national d’études démographiques (Ined). La formation est ouverte en priorité aux doctorants dans le domaine de la démographie et aux doctorants de toute autre discipline dont le sujet de thèse est en partie démographique. Dans la limite des places disponibles les modules sont ouverts aux post-doctorants, jeunes chercheurs et étudiants en Master 2 Recherche des différentes disciplines des sciences sociales. Cette formation poursuit la réflexion engagée lors de leur première édition en 2013 sur ces notions de « vulnérabilité », « situations de vulnérabilité » et de « populations vulnérables ». Il s'agit de présenter aux doctorants intéressés plusieurs exemples concrets d'enquêtes empiriques portant sur des populations difficiles à suivre (dans le temps) ou à enquêter (requérant par exemple de passer par des relais associatifs), ou encore sur des populations qui font l'objet de politiques publiques spécifiques (qui tendent à les catégoriser comme fragiles, vulnérables, ou toute autre expression de ce champ lexical).

Ce colloque international est organisé sur une base pluridisciplinaire (histoire, sciences politiques, sociologie, anthropologie, littérature, géographie, etc.), autour de 4 grands axes de discussion et de réflexion. Interviendront dans ce colloque 35 chercheurs et doctorants du Maghreb (Algérie, Maroc, Tunisie), d’Afrique subsaharienne (Bénin, Cameroun, Congo, Ethiopie, Sénégal), d’Europe (France, Grèce, Roumanie), et de Russies ainsi que des témoins, anciens étudiants résidant au Maroc, ayant fait leurs études en URSS ou en Russie, à Cuba, ou dans un pays d’Europe de l’Est.

Mountains: commitment and intervention? - Comparative approaches

Nous proposons d’explorer les modalités selon lesquelles la montagne (figure que l’on déclinera au pluriel) traverse les trajectoires d’engagement d’acteurs, dans des champs divers, de la protection des milieux et des sociétés de montagne à l’aménagement et au développement des territoires. La question posée par l’intitulé est ainsi à double sens : en quoi la montagne (figure paysagère et / ou « lieu pratiqué ») est-elle un moteur de l’action engagée ? Comment « l’entrée montagne » nous permet-elle de questionner le concept d’engagement ? Il s’agira ici d’explorer la grammaire des formes possibles de l’engagement (jusque dans ses dimensions physiques, corporelles, affectives, dans le don de soi, les aspirations éthiques, spirituelles, les multiples expressions langagières et artistiques) à travers des pratiques concrètes et des imaginaires de la montagne.
