  Children's Products and Media: From Design to Circulation

  This one-day conference focuses on the production of children's material and media cultures through the work of their creators. Three conferences given by international experts of creative industries and youth cultures (Marc Steinberg from Concordia University, Ning de Coninck-Smith from Aarhus University and Derek Johnson from Wisconsin-Madison University) will punctuate the event. Researchers from the CoCirPE project ("Design and Circulation of Cultural Products for Children") will also present their first results.

  Rethinking the issue of age in the city

  Cette journée d’étude a comme objectif de croiser trois questions de sciences sociales qui sont habituellement traitées séparément : les institutions, l’âge et la ville. Pour ce faire, la journée s’interroge sur la production institutionnelle de l’enfance et des catégories d’âges. La dimension urbaine permet de mettre en contexte la réflexion sur le travail des intuitions qui s’occupent d’enfance et ses possibles variations dans des contextes et des tissus sociaux différents.

  Comics and sport

  During the final talks of the fruitful international conference named “body languages in comics” set up by the junior drawn sciences laboratory of the Ecole normale supérieure (ENS) in Lyon on 8th and 9th October 2014, the idea to carry on, in a more precise way, the numerous debates on the occasion of a later scientific event was mentioned. In light of this, the C3S laboratory (“culture, sport, health and society”) of the University of Bourgogne/Franche-Comté organises holding an international symposium in order to study how sport is depicted in comics. Researchers in the C3S laboratory dedicate their work to sport sciences with a theoretical and epistemological commitment marked by interdisciplinarity. According to this stance, the international conference is open to various contributions allowing to understand the representations (whether they be historical, sociological, anthropological, literary, semiotic, psychological…etc…) of sport in comics.

  "Hikikomori" - acute social withdrawal among youth: a comparison between France and Japan

  Pourquoi de plus en plus d’adolescents et de jeunes adultes se retirent des relations sociales attendues (études, emploi ou recherche d’emploi, relations sociales) et s’isolent dans leur chambre pendant plusieurs mois voire plusieurs années ? Quels sont leurs profils, leurs modes de vie, leurs trajectoires ? Quelles régularités et quelles anomalies peut-on repérer dans leurs comportements ? Quelles réponses sociales et thérapeutiques peuvent être apportées ? Une équipe franco-japonaise et pluridisciplinaire s'attachera croiser les expériences françaises et japonaises du phénomène et à analyser ces nouvelles formes de retrait, de désocialisation ou de désengagement.
