Local-ness through the prism of ecological transition
La recherche « le local au prisme de la transition écologique » vise à saisir « par le bas » la notion de « local » en portant l’attention sur les processus de reterritorialisation des activités portés par la transition écologique (TE). Elle consiste à identifier et donner à voir à la fois les liens de proximité que ces activités tissent et les interrelations qu’elles introduisent entre acteurs à différentes échelles. Cette recherche s’appuie dans un premier temps sur le recensement et la cartographie des activités TE productives et de service, publiques, privées et associatives au sein de territoires préalablement sélectionnés. Par exemple : circuits courts alimentaires ou énergétiques, filières de matériaux bio-sourcés, organisations liées à l’économie sociale et solidaire (protection de l'environnement, lutte contre l'exclusion, santé).

The event is not strictly European. It is aiming at bringing together scientists and cities and territories from all over the world that plan or implement innovative nature and culture-based solutions, thus creating a world-wide forum of exchange of their success stories. However the Mediterranean region with its rich natural and cultural diversity, both terrestrial and marine will be very present ! The event will host the MED Social and creative community featured by TALIA (Territorial Appropriation of Leading-edge Innovation Actions), the Interreg-MED Programme’s horizontal project promoting the coherence and impact of modular projects addressing the topics of Cultural and Creative Industries and Social Innovation.

Encontra-se aberto o call for papers para o 4.º número da revista MIDAS – Museus e Estudos Interdisciplinares, a ser publicado no final de 2014. Para além de uma secção aberta a artigos de diversas temáticas este número incluirá um dossier sobre o tema – “Museus, Utopia e Urbanidade”, coordenado por Helena Barranha e Nuno Crespo. Following the study days dedicated to “architectural and town planning professions faced with the involvement of residents and users” in 2012 and “sustainable town planning and architecture know-how and models” in 2013, the aim of the Ramau 2014 conferences is to concentrate on the relations between sustainability and “management” in the field of urban development and architecture. The incorporation of sustainable development in architectural, urban and landscaping operations seems to have the effect of increasing the concern for management logic in the project process.

Words and walls
Les murs s'imposent aux hommes, ce n'est certainement jamais aussi vrai qu'en prison. Et pourtant, ce sont bien des hommes qui font d'une prison ce qu'elle est, à travers leurs idées ou leurs rêves, leurs contraintes et leurs stratégies, leur travail ou leur résistance. C'est pourquoi un établissement pénitentiaire, comme tout bâtiment, ne correspond jamais à ce que l'on en attendait, il n'est jamais la simple réalisation d'une idée. Comprendre ce qu'est une prison suppose donc de suivre le processus complexe de son émergence. Il faut, en particulier, saisir comment s’articulent les différentes logiques en jeu à toutes les étapes de sa conception et les décalages qui s’introduisent, à chaque fois, entre le souhait et la réalité et, plus précisément, entre l’utopie et le projet (la prison idéale), entre le projet et la construction (la prison réelle) et entre la construction et les usages (la prison habitée).
