Territoires et crises, crise des territoires
Revue tunisienne de géographie - numéro spécial
La Tunisie, à l'instar de plusieurs pays en voie de développement (PVD), a connu lors des deux dernières décennies plusieurs crises qui ont eu des conséquences marquantes sur son territoire (national, régional et local). Ce numéro spécial de la Revue Tunisienne de Géographie propose d’examiner les crises socio-politiques et sanitaires des deux dernières décennies qui ont affecté la Tunisie et les PVD et leurs effets sur les territoires et les sociétés. Il a pour objectif de mettre la lumière sur les crises des territoires dans les PVD engendrées, d’une part, par les révolutions arabes et surtout tunisienne et, d’autre part, par la pandémie de la Covid-19. Ces événements majeurs des deux dernières décennies sont d'une ampleur énorme, inédits, à retombées incalculables et systémiques sur nos sociétés et nos territoires.

Figures and Perspectives on the Mass and the Individual in Capitalist Modernity (19th-21st century)
How is it possible to use the notion of mass without making it collapse into a complete condemnation of collective action or into an acritical celebration of the crowd? From there on, the relationship between mass and individual can be addressed in many fashions: Are there any specific ways for the mass to organize itself as a political subject? What are means whereby artworks represent and transform the linkage between mass and individual? What are the mutations undergone by the mass qua object of the social sciences? How does capitalist modernity affect the moral and psychic autonomy of individuals?

Scientific and material support to research projects FMSH, 2020
The Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) is launching a call for projects dedicated to innovative themes in the humanities and social sciences (SHS): Digital Humanities; Philanthropy and Education; Ecological Transition and Social Justice. This call for projects is a feature of one of the main missions of the FMSH, which is to provide scientific and material support to research projects that are in the early stages of their development and can use the support of the FMSH to develop further their scientific content, methodology, and research networks.

MemWar. Memory and forgetting of war and trauma in the 20th century
Le XXIe siècle nait de l’histoire tourmentée du XXe, avec ses deux guerres mondiales et les autres conflits de dimension européenne, comme la Guerre civile espagnole. Ce colloque, organisé par le groupe de recherche « MemWar. Mémoires et oublis des guerres et des traumatismes du XXe siècle » du Département de Langues et cultures modernes de l’Université de Gênes, vise à analyser les modalités de transmission mémorielle de ces conflits au XXIe siècle, les représentations de ces derniers, les points aveugles et/ou obscurs de ce processus mémoriel, y compris dans une optique critique (Ricoeur, 2003) et, enfin, comment se développent les rapports de force entre discours officiel et contre-discours.

"Finding a voice" junior laboratory study day
Le point départ de notre réflexion est le constat selon lequel certains sujets n’ont pas accès à la parole dans l’espace public. Cette exclusion de la sphère de la parole concerne une pluralité de sujets, et ne saurait être limitée au groupe de ceux et celles qui n’ont pas voix au chapitre car ne peuvent pas voter (citoyen-ne-s mineur-e-s, étranger-ère-s ou privé-e-s de droits civiques). On peut songer à l’ensemble des groupes marginalisés dans la société (sans-abris, prisonnier-ère-s, malades, migrant-e-s, minorités sexuelles…), mais aussi plus généralement à l’ensemble des groupes dominés, que cette domination se fasse au nom de critères de sexe, de genre, de race ou de classe. L’hypothèse générale qui sous-tend notre réflexion est celle selon laquelle exclusion sociale et impossibilité à parler sont corrélées : l’effacement de la voix des sujets sociaux vulnérabilisés est solidaire ou même cause de leur exclusion, de sorte que l’on peut parler d’une « vulnérabilité linguistique ».

IVth International Congress
The IVth International Congress Thinking the Latin American right wings follows the three previous ones held in France (2014), Argentina (2016) and Brazil (2018), which have permitted the constitution of a community of researchers working on Latin American right-wings. Several specialists from different countries and disciplines have joined in this network, in order to promote projects and studies on this theme, and stimulated the development of new issues related to this political family. The use of various methodologies such as the analysis of political traditions and cultures, representations and imaginaries, identities, networks, sensitivities and memories have made it possible to consolidate a field of study that has become relevant to understand current Latin American political scene.

The Sciences Po Graduate Conference in Political Theory 2019 is dedicated to the thought of Axel Honneth and the 'Frankfurt School Project' of critical theory. Over the last three decades, Axel Honneth has played a crucial role in giving new life to the post-Kantian tradition. As the leading voice of the Frankfurt School after Habermas, his work has been responsible for renewed interest in critical theory. His early engagement with Foucault, his turn to Hegel's notion of recognition for a new social theory as well as, more recently, Honneth's work on the institutional conditions of a 'democratic ethical life,' and, finally, his reappraisal of 'social freedom' as the normative idea of the socialist tradition represent only some of the most remarkable contributions he has made to contemporary theorizing.

Tribute to Claudie Weill, reader of Rosa Luxemburg
La rencontre avec la pensée de Rosa Luxemburg a marqué en profondeur les travaux de recherche de Claudie Weill, historienne du socialisme et de la social-démocratie. Rosa Luxemburg a construit son œuvre en appliquant la méthode d’analyse de Marx aux problèmes d’un capitalisme en mutation, et notamment à l’étude des phénomènes récurrents de crise et des moyens employés par le capital pour restaurer sa rentabilité et garantir sa survie. Les problèmes qu’elle a soulevés, et dont Claudie Weill s’est fait l’interprète, s’imposent aujourd’hui à la réflexion critique, par-delà les évidentes différences de contexte. Ce numéro thématique de la revue L’homme et la société entend stimuler une réflexion afin de prolonger d’un point de vue théorique autant que pratique la pensée ainsi mise en valeur.

The riot - a historical, conceptual and political subject
Objet historique, conceptuel et politique
L’émeute est, pour les sciences sociales, un objet d’étude problématique. Charles Tilly soulignait que le mot appartient au répertoire de la répression, à tout cet ensemble « des paroles infamantes que ne prononcent presque jamais les acteurs eux-mêmes ». Pourtant, son constat n’est pas entièrement exact : « émeute », y compris avec la charge de violence, de désordre et d’improvisation que porte le mot, est parfois revendiqué comme désignant une forme d’action jugée légitime par certains groupes. Pour Tilly, le biais qu’il soulignait était ainsi une raison pour ne pas employer le terme comme catégorie d’analyse du politique. Pour nous, la question reste ouverte. L’émeute oblige à s’interroger sur les critères qui permettent de penser la légitimité d’une contestation violente dans un État de droit : peut-on penser l’émeute comme une modalité d’exercice du droit de résistance ? Où doit-on la situer dans la distinction entre guerre et paix ?

Counter-enlightenment, Revolution and Dissent
Philosophical Journal of Conflict and Violence / PJCV
Reason and rational modes of thought are often seen as the bastion against the acceleration of conflict into violence and the goal of the Enlightenment tradition was, in a large part, to liberate individuals from those irrational superstitions and beliefs which were at the base of these conflicts. However, many critiques of the Enlightenment project, both historical and more contemporary, see the imposition of universal reason as itself a form violence, ignoring claims of comprehensive traditions, identity and history on the individual. The aim of this special edition of the Philosophical Journal of Conflict and Violence is to examine possible counter-enlightenment approaches to violence, conflict and conflict resolution.

The WMF’s mission is the development and exchange of knowledge, information and competencies in all mediation areas, notably through the regular organization of international congresses for more than fifteen years. The Xth Conference of the World Mediation Forum wants to devote itself to trying to understand how mediation can be organized and developed when it has so many objectives that are seemingly difficult to reconcile. 15 May 1968: the Odeon theatre in Paris is occupied by students and becomes the insurgent headquarters where every night militants recount the days' action in occupied factories to an audience of people camping in the auditorium. Youth rebellion was never as mythologised as that of the French students’ fight against institutional oppression. The effects were felt across the Channel, too – but the nature of those effects was, and remains, disputed. 50 years on… where are we? What remains of autogestion and emancipatory education? What remains of theatre inventiveness and sedition? What remains of a need for participatory audiences? What remains of utopia and dissent?

Dans quelle mesure les Lumières doivent-elles être diffusées vers les couches sociales les moins riches et les moins instruites ? Dans quelle mesure le fait de les diffuser change-t-il leur définition même ? Ainsi s'engage, au tournant du XIXe siècle, le débat qui contribue à faire des Lumières, dans les deux siècles qui suivent, un héritage multiple et complexe, qu'il est possible d'analyser au prisme des tensions entre pensée et action, idées et réalités, théorie et pratique ou encore forme de gouvernement (Regierungsform) et manière de gouverner (Regierungsart).

Animal rights and the vegan movement in Germany
En février 2017, le ministère allemand de l'Environnement décidait de supprimer la viande des repas servis à ses convives. On estime que l'Allemagne compte cette même année environ 8 millions de végétariens et 1,3 millions de végans (qui refusent l'utilisation de tout produit animal). Il apparaît donc intéressant de s'interroger sur la question animale en Allemagne quatorze ans après le colloque de Marc Cluet consacré à « L'amour des animaux dans le monde germanique », et ce d'autant plus que ces questions agitent de plus en plus également la société française. Nous avons choisi une approche interdisciplinaire pour aborder ces questions – littérature, philosophie, histoire, sociologie, économie, etc. – car la question animale est par essence transversale.
