Paradigms, models, scenarios and practices in terms of strong sustainability

While the notion of sustainability continues to be associated with the Brundtland Report (1987) and the concept of sustainable development, a community of sustainability researchers and practitioners increasingly seeks to emancipate the concept to be consistent with the knowledge and aspirations of the moment. The enthusiasm and expectations for more sustainability go beyond mere environmental issues. They touch on crucial social issues as well. The symposium papers intends to question the paradigms, models, scenarios and practices that embody sustainability. One may wonder what meaning should be given to the very idea of sustainability and the representations it conveys.

Le S2HEP est un laboratoire interdisciplinaire regroupant didacticiens, historiens, philosophes, sociologues, anthropologues des sciences et spécialistes des sciences de l'information et de la communication.

Fiction and economy in the Enlightenment

Dans le cadre d'un travail de recherche mené en commun avec des chercheurs en économie de Paris 1 et de Paris 8, Elise Sultan et Marion Chottin (UFR de philosophie de Paris 1, CHSPM) organisent cette année un séminaire portant sur les fictions dans l'économie politique du XVIII^e siècle. Si la littérature, sous la forme du roman, du théâtre ou de la fable, peut instruire l'économie, elle vient aussi, sous celle de la fiction, émailler ses textes les plus classiques et donner à penser ce que la rationalité discursive peine, voire échoue à appréhender. Tel est le point de départ de ce séminaire ouvert à tous qui recevra, à chaque séance, deux chercheurs invités à présenter et discuter un aspect de l'une ou l'autre de ces deux façons d'articuler la littérature et l'économie.
