  Blind spots - spaces of invisibility

  Tête-à-tête journal issue 11

  La revue Tête-à-tête (revue d'entretiens) choisit d'interroger, dans son onzième numéro, les espaces d'invisibilité. Espaces médiatiques, sociaux, politiques, les angles morts comportent sans les montrer quantité d'éléments (dangers, imprévus, suspens, objets du désir) qui affectent la relation entre ceux qui donnent à voir et ceux qui regardent. Faudrait-il donc tout voir ? Doit-on tout révéler ? L’angle mort n’est-il pas aussi un repli salvateur permettant de soustraire à la société des espaces qui garantissent une certaine forme de liberté et une possibilité d’action ? L’angle mort peut tour à tour faire du spectateur le témoin d’une révélation, la victime d’une tromperie, ou le complice d’un jeu consistant à aller chercher « à côté » pour mieux voir.

  Towards a graphic culture: studying drawing

  Drawing seems nowadays to know unprecedented expansion and to invest all domains of the expression and the communication: book industries, cartoons and animation movies, video games, corporate communication… And we indeed face kind of a paradox: widely present, drawing seems almost impossible to define and some philosophers like Jean-Luc Nancy even invite us to accept the "unthinkable" nature of the drawing. The international conference we organize on June 15^th and 16^th of this year in the villa Finaly of Firenze (Italy) does not intend to adopt similar position. Without wishing necessarily to produce a definition of the drawing, we intend to progress towards its understanding.
