Tourism and outdoor sport territories in transition
Using geographical approaches, the aim of this thematic issue of Géocarrefour is to analyse how different types of tourist destinations react faced with the changes outlined above and how new sustainable and hybrid models of development are set in motion and how they function. These models represent the culmination of the process of tourism transition as identified here. They are characterised by their mix of activities, by new interactions between social groups, (resident or tourist populations) and by new territorial forms. The impacts of these adaptations will also be discussed and analysed.

What food transitions for territories?
Les travaux et rapports scientifiques sont aujourd’hui nombreux à poser la question de l’alimentation de demain et à s’alarmer sur notre capacité à nourrir 11 milliards de personnes à l’horizon 2050 (DuAline, 2014 ; GIEC, 2019) tout en respectant la santé humaine et des écosystèmes. Dans un contexte d’alertes récurrentes des conséquences du changement climatique et de la pollution des écosystèmes (Dumat et al., 2019), cet enjeu incite à penser urgemment les modalités concrètes de la transition des systèmes alimentaires vers des modèles durables et résilients. La récente crise liée au coronavirus a d’ailleurs remis en lumière les questions qui se posent, en termes d’organisation et de gouvernance, sur les vecteurs d’une telle transition écologique, d’une justice sociale et économique ou encore d’une santé globale.

Local-ness through the prism of ecological transition
La recherche « le local au prisme de la transition écologique » vise à saisir « par le bas » la notion de « local » en portant l’attention sur les processus de reterritorialisation des activités portés par la transition écologique (TE). Elle consiste à identifier et donner à voir à la fois les liens de proximité que ces activités tissent et les interrelations qu’elles introduisent entre acteurs à différentes échelles. Cette recherche s’appuie dans un premier temps sur le recensement et la cartographie des activités TE productives et de service, publiques, privées et associatives au sein de territoires préalablement sélectionnés. Par exemple : circuits courts alimentaires ou énergétiques, filières de matériaux bio-sourcés, organisations liées à l’économie sociale et solidaire (protection de l'environnement, lutte contre l'exclusion, santé).

It is aiming at bringing together scientists and cities and territories from all over the world that plan or implement innovative nature and culture-based solutions, thus creating a world-wide forum of exchange of their success stories. However the Mediterranean region with its rich natural and cultural diversity, both terrestrial and marine will be very present ! The event will host the MED Social and creative community featured by TALIA (Territorial Appropriation of Leading-edge Innovation Actions), the Interreg-MED Programme’s horizontal project promoting the coherence and impact of modular projects addressing the topics of Cultural and Creative Industries and Social Innovation.

Territorial marketing - between differentiation and mobilisation
En partenariat avec la chaire « Attractivité et nouveau marketing territorial » de l’université de Marseille, l’équipe TerRA (Territoire, ressources et acteurs) de l’UMR CNRS LISA de l’université de Corte, propose un workshop multilogue où l’on discute des démarches de marketing territorial, par le prisme de deux objectifs plutôt difficiles à atteindre individuellement mais aussi délicats à combiner : la quête de différenciation d’une part, qui consiste en un positionnement soutenu par les outils et méthodes du marketing et la quête de mobilisation des parties prenantes d’autre part, qui réorganise les réseaux locaux et déploie des logiques plus ou moins mobilisatrices afin de constituer des leaderships territoriaux.

7th International conference on Localized Agri-food Systems
During the last decades, Localized agri-food systems (SYAL) have become increasingly important as tools for farmers, rural firms and consumers to meet market challenges and satisfy the rising demand for "food with a farmers face". The potential contribution of localized agri-food systems to rural development by promoting economic development, social cohesion and counter-acting the demographic impact of agricultural modernization has also increased their political relevance. Previous research has addressed various aspects of the relationship between SYAL and geographical indications, as well as territorial, organizational and cultural issues, but there are still many unanswered questions and theoretical gaps to fill.

Peut-on réellement faire une différence entre aménagement du territoire et développement local ? Quelles sont les spécificités des approches utilisées dans les initiatives de développement local ? Que cache en réalité cette notion aux contours souvent flous et aux enjeux multiples ? Quels sont les acteurs du développement local en Afrique et comment leurs rôles s’imbrique-t-il au contexte actuel de décentralisation ? Voilà des questionnements autour desquels se bâti ce projet éditorial.
