Le champ de l’art italien dans les années 1960-1970, au-delà de l’Arte Povera
Si l’historiographie de l’art italien des années 1960-1970 a longtemps mis l’accent sur les figures de l’Arte Povera, une dynamique académique, qui s’est développée ces dernières années, tend à reconsidérer ce récit canonique. Loin du récit officiel pour une grande part fabriqué par Germano Celant, ces décennies sont marquées par une effervescence ne pouvant pas être réduite à l’histoire d’un label. Dans cette perspective, de nouvelles recherches en histoire de l’art ont révélé cette diversité dans le champ artistique en s’intéressant à des figures, des thématiques ou des pratiques plus marginales et impensées.

Pia Pera: An Archipelago of Writings
Ten years after the death of the writer Pia Pera (1956–2016), the aim of this full-day workshop is to explore her entire body of work in depth for the first time. Adopting a multidisciplinary approach, we aim to restore the diversity of her writing and highlight its place in the Italian literary landscape. Her work anticipated issues that we consider essential today, and she was a complex, protean and unique figure.

Giovanna Marini (1937-2024) est « la voix chantée » du mouvement populaire italien, mêlant tradition et innovation, car elle ne fut pas seulement une excellente interprète mais aussi une compositrice remarquable. Ce colloque international interdisciplinaire lui rend hommage en explorant les différentes facettes de sa production, son interprétation en spectacle et son travail de transmission. En plus des communications des intervenants universitaires italiens et français, seront présentés des documents filmiques tournés lors d’entretiens ou de spectacles, qui permettront au public d’écouter sa voix.

Les Doctoriales du Centre d’études sociologiques et politiques Raymond Aron (CESPRA) tentent de faire dialoguer de manière transdisciplinaire les recherches des doctorant·es du laboratoire. Chaque panel s’organise autour d’un texte de référence soulevant une interrogation fondamentale qui traverse la diversité des approches en sciences sociales ici réunies (la pensée par cas ; la contextualisation). Chaque intervention vise à présenter les travaux et à les mettre en perspective avec une de ces interrogations fondamentales afin de réfléchir, au fil d’un dialogue ouvert avec l’ensemble des participant·es et des modétareur·ices, aux enjeux épistémologiques, méthodologiques et d’écritures qui rassemblent sociologie, histoire, anthropologie et philosophie politique.

Quo vadis Provenance Research?
Primary Sources and Archival Collections in Post-Unitarian Italy
The workshop will focus on primary sources and archival collections in post-unitarian Italy, which serve as a fundamental tool for provenance research. Research projects dealing with the Italian post-unitary period up to the recent years still face the significant challenge of not only having to locate archival sources, but also of finding a way to access and consult them. The workshop aims to put this issue up for discussion and wishes to promote an open dialogue between international scholars and representatives of research institutions. The focus lies not only on traditional art historical sources such as specified libraries, photographic collections, private estates or institutional archives. It is also intended to include historical and political archives. The aim is to connect various sources and methods of archival work related to the field of provenance research and to identify potential improvements in the provision and the use of archival material (including digital data) in Italy and abroad.

The constellation of the anti-nuclear movement in Italy in the 1970s and 1980s
The theme of anti-nuclear mobilizations has remained largely unexplored, despite contributions made by some of their protagonists and numerous studies on the 1970s and 1980s movements. Firstly, this special issue addresses this gap and aims to investigate the heterogeneous components in Italian society that have contributed to anti-nuclear mobilizations, highlighting their protagonists, ideas, and values. Secondly, it aims to offer an adequate contextualisation via an exploration of political and organisational ties of such movements, and tools and communication strategies they employed.

Cette journée d’étude doctorale se propose de réfléchir aux cas d’auteurs ayant mêlé écriture littéraire et écriture journalistique, entre Europe latine et Amérique latine. À partir de la notion de journalisme narratif et/ou littéraire, nous nous interrogerons sur les modalités et les formes de cette hybridation : comment ces pratiques d’écriture, sous-tendues par des enjeux éthiques, artistiques et économiques différents, s’influencent-elles mutuellement ? Dans quelle mesure peuvent-elles constituer, l’une pour l’autre, une valeur ajoutée ? Que nous disent-elles du rôle sociétal de l’écrivain ?

Gaetano Salvemini (1873-1957) and France
The conference intends to propose an overall re-examination of Salvemini's relations with France, starting with those matured with some historians during the drafting phase of his volume on the French Revolution (1905, subsequently reissued several times with variants), passing through his relations with some important intellectuals and those gravitating around the figure of his second wife Fernande Dauriac, arriving at those with the world of Italian and European antifascist exile. Vast and significant, even if not always marked by sympathy and harmony of ideas, appear, moreover, the relations with exponents of the labor movement and with various personalities of the French socialist world. A separate chapter is, finally, represented by relations with the Giustizia e Libertà movement.

The Americans in the western Mediterranean (1942-1945)
Landings, liberation and the "pax americana"
The objective of this meeting is to refocus the history of landings and subsequent military liberation operations in the Western Mediterranean, between 1942 and 1945, from an American perspective. Indeed, from Operation Torch in North Africa to the landing in Provence in August 1944 and the final battles in Italy in the spring of 1945, the United States asserted their decisions over the British within the coalition. Furthermore, the arrival of thousands of American soldiers, coupled with the installation of dozens of military bases in North Africa, Italy, Southern France, and Corsica, was accompanied by the establishment of various administrative structures by the United States to ensure a return to order and to set up a kind of "Pax Americana" according to their own interests. The interactions of these soldiers with the local populations sometimes lead to tensions. The aim, from a comparative perspective, is to go beyond the simple military dimension and broaden the study of this theater of operations to include political, economic, social, and cultural fields.

Une journée particulière, de l’écran à la scène, de l’Italie à la France
Une journée particulière d’Ettore Scola revient au théâtre à partir d’octobre 2023, dans une nouvelle création de Lilo Baur, avec Laetitia Casta et Roschdy Zem dans les rôles principaux. Adapté pour les planches, dans la continuité de la sortie du film en 1977, l’œuvre a fait l’objet de différentes mises en scène. Ce projet d’ouvrage collectif vise à accompagner les représentations de cette nouvelle adaptation, en mêlant des entretiens avec ses principaux créateurs et des contributions sur le film de 1977, la pièce et ses différentes mises en scène en France et/ou en Italie, signées par des universitaires, italianistes ou non, spécialistes d’histoire, de cinéma ou de théâtre, afin de porter des éclairages inédits et fructueux sur les différentes déclinaisons possibles d’une œuvre dont la (re)découverte est plus que jamais nécessaire.

La période de l’entre-deux-guerres est celle de la reconstruction des gares endommagées, de la modernisation des réseaux (électrification), de l’introduction du béton armé et de l’adaptation des bâtiments à de nouveaux standards. L’architecture des gares se renouvelle avec une certaine autonomie. Le milieu de l’aménagement et de la création architecturale est alors traversé par des débats animés, marqués par une accélération de la diffusion de l’information. Dans ce contexte, la proximité culturelle historique entre France et Italie, perdure. Échanges et regards croisées entre professionnels français et italiens sont aussi marqués par l’évolution des situations politiques et par les initiatives de rapprochement entre les deux pays, dont les implications politiques et stratégiques témoignent de la complexité de la période.

Modèles et pratiques en circulation entre France et Italie
Les bâtiments voyageurs et l’architecture ferroviaire assument dans les grandes villes ou des lieux spécifiques (sites touristiques, frontières) un rôle de monument qui porte une narration spatiale e visuelle, politique et idéologique liée au moment de la commande. Les gares, en tant que lieux symboliques, de confortation des pouvoirs et d’expression d’une culture architecturale et technique, communiquent en des langages divers et portent l’empreinte des praticiens en charge des projets, des négociations entre ces dernières et les instances administratives, les gestionnaires, les collectivités locales. Dans cette perspective il s’agit d’aborder la création et la transformation de l’architecture ferroviaire en convoquant des domaines historiques complémentaires

We propose an unusual and unprecedented approach within the domain of Verga studies, pursuing the presence of the author in contemporary society through non-canonical lines of research. Some possible areas of investigation could be: Verga in songs, in contemporary melodramas, in dance, in non canonical theatrical forms, in audiobooks and hyperbooks, in comics, in the Italian territory, in the social sector; Verga and the fantastic, parodies on Verga.

Although Liebermann often travelled to the Netherlands and considered it his “adopted homeland”, Italy also played an important role in his artistic development. Between 1878 and 1913 the painter made at least six journeys there, established contacts with Italian artists and critics and took part in international art exhibitions. His works also found their way into Italian collections. This conference seeks to investigate German-Italian artistic exchange more broadly between the 1860s and the 1930s. and aims to highlight German-Italian cultural exchange by looking at other contemporary personalities.
