  Multidisciplinary Approaches to Food and Foodways in the Medieval Eastern Mediterranean

  Within the rapidly expanding area of research on food and foodways, the medieval eastern Mediterranean is still very much an unexplored area. The aim of the POMEDOR project (People, Pottery and Food in the Medieval Eastern Mediterranean) was to explore this new field in a multidisciplinary way and to stimulate further research.

  IXe rencontres internationales des doctorants du monde byzantin

  Pour la neuvième année consécutive, les rencontres internationales des doctorants du monde byzantin seront organisées à Paris les 7 et 8 octobre 2016. Elles ont pour objectif de rassembler les doctorants de toutes disciplines en rapport avec la civilisation byzantine afin de leur permettre d'exposer leurs recherches et de renforcer les liens entre les jeunes chercheurs. Toute contribution en rapport avec le monde byzantin ou post-byzantin est susceptible d'intéresser le comité d'organisation.

  Jarres et grands contenants entre Moyen Âge et époque moderne

  1er congrès international thématique de l’AIECM3

  Le thème retenu pour ce premier congrès thématique de l'AIECM3, co-organisé avec le LA3M, concerne les jarres, les grands contenants, les grands vases de jardin et d’industrie, entre Moyen Âge et époque moderne dans l’ensemble du bassin méditerranéen, le Proche et le Moyen-Orient, le Caucase et l’Asie Centrale. Seront pris en compte tous les contenants de stockage, de conservation, de préparation et d’emballage, fixes ou utilisés pour le transport (à l’exception des amphores). Les communications portent sur la typologie, les techniques de fabrication et/ou sur la destination fonctionnelle de ces objets, au travers des sources écrites, de l’archéologie et de l’ethnographie.

  La transmission des textes : nouveaux outils, nouvelles approches

  COST/IRHT/Biblissima - Stage de formation

  L’Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes (Paris) a le plaisir d’annoncer l'ouverture des inscriptions au stage de formation qui aura lieu, du 31 mars au 4 avril 2014, sur « La transmission des textes : nouveaux outils, nouvelles approches ». Le stage est financé par la COST ACTION IS 1005 Medieval Europe. Medieval Cultures and Technological Resources, et organisé en collaboration avec Biblissima  (Campus Condorcet).

  James Zebedee, the "translatio" and the Jacobean pilgrimages

  7th International Colloquium Compostela

  The 7th International Colloquium Compostela aims at analysing the myth of the "translatio" of the body of Saint James from Palestina to Santiago de Compostela and its impact in the historical construction of the Jacobean pilgrimages.  As in the former editions, focusing on an interdisciplinary approach, the Colloquium analyzes the state of the art in the archeological research of Palestinian and Compostela in the early centuries, the studies about the traditions of the translatio, the iconography and the literary and social impact of the "translatio" and the current reality of pilgrimages to Compostella.
