Call for papers - Ethnology, anthropology
The goal of this Workshop is to document how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting tourism, including its industry, holiday practices, travel imaginations or tourist’s representations. It will question the transformations in mobility and migrations as the pandemic leads to the closure of airports and restricts travel: how does that affect privileged ultra-privileged mobilites, holiday practices, their motivations and justifications. We will also question what this pandemic reveals about the manufacture of travel imaginations from the perspective of the transport and hotel industry and travelers, and the evolution of the representations of the foreign tourist, who in a few weeks have gone from objects of desire to subjects of contamination.

Words, practices and heritage
Ce projet d’ouvrage collectif sur la gastronomie entend réunir des articles, en sciences sociales, dont les thèmes seront axés sur mots, les pratiques et le patrimoine de l’art culinaire au Cameroun. En raison de son statut d’« Afrique en miniature », le Cameroun regorge d’une richesse alimentaire et culinaire considérable qui mérite d’être étudiée et comprise tant il est vrai que les food studies sont balbutiants. De plus, la gastronomie camerounaise et ses ingrédients s’exportent de plus en plus, avec des noms locaux, notamment vers l’Europe même si leur promotion est questionnable. Pourtant, la gastronomie a depuis longtemps fait sa mue ; désormais, elle revêt des enjeux économiques aussi bien nationaux qu’internationaux.

American public diplomacy in the Middle-East
The inverted pyramid paradigm? Genesis, institutions, strategies and reception
Politique Américaine, a political science journal published in French on US domestic politics and international strategies launches a call for papers for its special issue on: "American Public Diplomacy in the Middle-East: the inverted pyramid paradigm? Genesis, Institutions, Strategies and Receptions". Next to its impact on governments, public diplomacy is seen as a diplomatic practice aiming at directly or indirectly influencing civil societies. It encompasses all "seductive" strategies that a State implements towards the public opinions of another state or region. The growing importance of this idea highlights the necessity for the main players of international relations to maintain a multi-level dialogue with foreign civil societies in order to anticipate political and social developments initiated by other players than the State itself.

La revue Maghreb / Machrek consacre un numéro spécial aux agricultures du Maghreb / Machrek à l’épreuve de la crise alimentaire et des révolutions arabes. Des contributions inscrites dans une diversité de disciplines (histoire, géographie, sociologie, économie, sciences politiques, etc.) sont sollicitées, en particulier sur les thèmes suivants : les transformations des sociétés rurales et des économies agricoles ; les origines rurales et agricoles des révolutions arabes ; l’organisation professionnelle du monde agricole ; l’agriculture et le développement territorial ; les formes alternatives de valorisation de l’espace agricole ; les défis environnementaux de l’agriculture ; le développement agricole et la sécurité alimentaire dans le monde arabe. -
