La pandémie de la Covid-19 et les mesures restrictives de distanciation physique et de confinement affectent les liens sociaux et familiaux. Ces contraintes obligent les personnes à repenser leurs relations familiales et de couple, la gestion des temps familiaux et professionnels, leurs relations intergénérationnelles, ainsi que les transitions de vie. Exacerbant les tensions de la vie conjugale et familiale ou renforçant ces liens, cette pandémie offre aussi l’occasion de réfléchir à de nouvelles stratégies du vivre-ensemble.

Covid-19, Migration and Migratory Parkours
From Mobility to the Prisms of Immobility: Paradoxes and Realities
The notion of migratory parkour proposes to apprehend migration as a process that varies according to the spaces crossed, the resources mobilized and personal choices, implying a particular will and intention, according to the opportunities, constraints and risks encountered. It also considers the interactions between multiple actors (migrants, States, criminal groups, solidarity collectives). Beyond these experiences linked to the “route”, the migratory parkour also encompasses the process of integration/inclusion in the host society and of return/repatriation in the country of origin. The general objective of this call of Revue Européenne des Migrations Internationales is then to question the heuristic value of the notion of migratory parkour in the context of Covid-19.

Environmental racism and health inequalities
This issue of Journal Socioscapes aims to critically analyse the relationship between racism, health and the environment, in particular the relationship between environmental racism and health inequalities, the intertwining of environmental ills with the social ills of racism and capitalism, through the collection of theoretical or empirical studies. According to a multidisciplinary perspective, this issue of the Journal welcomes contributions from different fields of study, including (but not limited to) sociology, political science, anthropology, political economy, geography, epidemiology, public health, urban and rural studies, environmental studies, environmental justice studies, critical race theory, critical race feminism, political ecology, eco-feminism.

The Caribbean against the Covid19: A global crisis and local solutions

Officially affected by the COVID19 pandemic in early March 2020, the Caribbean Basin is concerned about the fragility of its social fabric and the wide disparities in public health policies from one State to another, which make a comprehensive response at the regional level impossible. The situation worsened at the end of May with the withdrawal of US funding to the World Health Organization (WHO), finally condemning the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), an emblematic figure in the fight against epidemics in the islands and on the continent, to a drastic reduction in its interventions, or even its disappearance. In this way, this issue seeks to respond to various concerns about the regional impact of the pandemic, around the central issue: to what extent the economic, political and/or social impact hovers around unresolved points in the construction of Caribbean Nation-States that prevent them from facing the crisis.

Travailler les âges en professionnel·le : accompagnement et catégorisation
Au cours des dernières décennies, la sociologie francophone des âges s’est concentrée sur les passages et leur encadrement par les politiques publiques. Même si de plus en plus de chercheur·se·s appellent à construire une sociologie transversale des âges de la vie, la sociologie de l’âge n’en reste pas moins très segmentée par catégorie : sociologie de l’enfance, de la pré-adolescence, de la jeunesse, du vieillissement. Les recherches sont aussi bien souvent cloisonnées de par leur thématique, amenant les chercheur·se·s à travailler sur un groupe d’âge spécifique : c’est le cas de la socialisation ou de l’école. La sociologie du travail quant à elle a produit un champ abondant de recherche sur l’âge au travail interrogeant l'entrée dans la carrière jusqu’aux aléas de sa fin. Cependant, si l’âge y est envisagé comme une catégorie du parcours, il est rarement étudié en tant qu’objet de l’activité de ceux et celles qui encadrent des passages d’âge.

When the humanities and social sciences join in?
Si l’activité physique adaptée (APA) suscite, à juste titre, un engouement dans la prise en charge en oncologie, il est toutefois nécessaire d’en discuter les modalités opérationnelles d’intégration de l’APA dans le parcours de soin. Loin de se résumer à un lieu de rééducation fonctionnelle, les séances d’APA sont également l’occasion, pour la patiente ou le patient, de reprendre en main ses relations sociales. Dans le cadre de ces séances, ils peuvent en effet parler sans fard et goûter à une sociabilité renouvelée. Là, et l’instar de ce qui se joue dans les groupes d’alcooliques anonymes chacun peut s’observer « soi-même comme un autre », sans en partir. Cet accompagnement mutuel entre « identités blessées » donne du sens à l’expérience et tempère le sentiment de fatigue inhérent au cancer. Ces réflexions et ces postures confirment concrètement, une éthique de l’éducation, de l’empathie et du soin – par les corps en mouvement – au fondement de la relation à l’autre.

The present conference aims to examine the devastating impacts of Covid-19 pandemic on gender equality and quality education, two sustainable goals identified by the UN, and the kind of responses which were triggered as forms of activism, self-expression, and creation of new meanings. Furthermore, it explores the prospects which may be unlocked for future professionals through learning different skills and values which foster equal opportunities for both genders in leadership and in the labour market, eventually and hopefully resulting in an equitable, unbiased, and fair labour culture for all.

Disability and geography: spatialities of disability and social and professional integration
8th EUGEO Congress on the Geography of Europe
The disability rights movement laid the foundation for the current development of disability studies. A number of geography-based studies have been part of this stream of research since the 1990s. From different theoretical perspectives, they aim to study the links between disability and spatial injustice or to explore the sensitive dimension of the spatial relationships of people with disabilities. This EUGEO 2021 session wishes to highlight all the work that considers disability and its issues through a spatial approach. Whether the study of the mobility of people with disabilities or the analysis of their objective and subjective links with space, work that analyzes the spatialities of disability in their multiplicity and diversity will be particularly appreciated. With the aim of understanding to what extent space can be an asset or a hindrance for people with disabilities, this session also encourages work that questions the different logics of social and professional integration and in particular the influence of the living environment in these logics.

The creation of social inequality in health

Consacré aux domaines empiriques majeurs que sont les expérimentations en santé à visée de changement social, la participation et la médiation sociales, nous proposons de poser ainsi les jalons d’un cadre d’observation, d’analyse, d’interprétation et d’objectivation propre à comprendre et, ce faisant, à endiguer l’accroissement galopant des inégalités sociales de santé (ISS). Plus généralement, provenant de toutes les sciences sociales et autorisant les rapprochements disciplinaires, les contributions attendues peuvent s’inscrire dans un ou plusieurs des trois axes thématiques dégagés pour estimer de quoi les inégalités sociales de santé sont le nom, instruire le processus de la construction sociale des inégalités de santé, dévoiler des formes alternatives de production politique de la santé afin de porter au jour la fabrique des ISS.

Social Justice in Times of Uncertainty takes as a starting point the health pandemic that erupted in 2020, which led societies across the world to cope with disruptions in the provisioning of goods and services, means of livelihood, and fundamental freedom – not least, that of movement. The crisis also revealed global and local inequalities, translated into who has the right to live or not, and raised new questions around (in)justice in the contemporary world. In light of the turmoil experienced, as a globalized society and within our communities, this congress emphasizes the relevance of social and environmental justice in the making of a fair society, asking the question: in times of uncertainty, what does it mean to live a good life in a just society?

Penser le changement de la famille : une articulation entre la vie publique et la vie privée
La famille, la vie privée sont des domaines qui ont connu des changements radicaux depuis plus de 50 ans. On peut en citer quelques-uns : pluralisation des formes devie privée, fragilisation de la vie conjugale, modification des rôles sexués au sein de la famille, flou sur l’entrée et la fin de la vie de couple, réduction de la fécondité, nouvelles formes familiales avec l’essor de ménages monoparentaux et recomposés. Ces évolutions sont des faits incontestables. Leur interprétation, en revanche, fait débat. La sociologie de la famille n'échappe pas au grand récit de l’effondrement des institutions. À vrai dire, ces perceptions durent depuis plus de deux siècles. Louis de Bonald au début du XIXe siècle ne s’indignait-il pas de la fin du pouvoir du père et du déclin de la famille après la Révolution française ? Au tournant du XXe siècle, Émile Durkheim ne notait-il pas lui-même la faiblesse d’une institution qui ne protège pas assez les individus, le conduisant à s’opposer au rétablissement du divorce par consentement mutuel ?

À travers cet appel à contribution, la revue Chroniques du Travail entend interroger un certain nombre de transformations touchant au travail, à son organisation et sa régulation, consécutives à l’avènement de la crise sanitaire. Les questions énoncées ici sont nombreuses, mais elles ne constituent que des suggestions. Elles ne doivent en aucun cas brider les auteurs dans leurs intentions, dès lors qu’ils orientent leurs analyses sur les enjeux, la mise en œuvre et les effets des mesures qui permettent d’assurer la continuité d’activité en période de pandémie. Des contributions sont ainsi attendues sur la question des rôles des divers acteurs de la prévention des risques professionnels, sur les changements dans les relations professionnelles… mais aussi sur les conditions du travail modifiées et leurs conséquences en la matière.

Qu’en est-il, donc, des épidémies au XXIe siècle ? C’est à cette question que le présent appel compte trouver des réponses. Le discours autour des pandémies focalise surtout les crises engendrées. Par exemple, dans le cas de la pandémie de Covid-19 de 2020, au-delà du repli de l’individu sur soi-même, de la prise de conscience de ce qui est vraiment nécessaires pour (sur)vivre et du confort de la vie à l’abri des certitudes, le discours médiatique crie aux crises sanitaire, économique, de l’enseignement, etc. dans un registre qui effleure l’apocalyptique. Par les axes proposés, notre colloque vise à questionner les mises en scènes des pandémies dans le discours, à apporter des éclairages sur les stratégies utilisées pour les représenter et les arguments utilisés pour éveiller l’émotion, à mettre en perspective les imaginaires sociaux activés.

This is an ethnography conference and all disciplines using ethnography are welcome.

Domestic accumulation, decluttering, and the stuff of kinship in anthropological perspective
We invite submissions of abstracts considering the following sorts of questions: What is the relationship between storage and the labor of kinship? What kinds of possessions are sources of obligation? Which are experienced as social or animate beings? What social practices and spatial processes surround waste, excess, and the riddance of objects from the home? How might local ethnographic concepts like hau orbrol inform the anthropological understanding of attachment to possessions, recycling, or the circulation of second-hand objects? When is accumulation a valued social practice, and when is it morally suspect? How is the space of storage constructed in relationship to the social space of the home, and how might this reflect on the local category of stored things? We invite authors to consider how practices such as storage, stockpiling, and purging of belongings can be approached anthropologically in order to provide both nuanced ethnographic depth and broader cross-cultural and historical perspective. Interdisciplinary perspectives are also welcome.

Health: New Challenges for Development

A call for papers on health and development cannot but mention the current pandemic crisis. While international aid in the health sector has been rather stagnant of late, the Covid-19 pandemic could put health and infectious diseasesback at the heart of long-run priorities, particularly in countries of the South. While the African continent remains relatively unaffected, low-income countries share several characteristics: fragile and poorly funded healthcare systems that currently seem to be coping nonetheless, as well as a significant burden due to endemic health problems, including non communicable diseases. An integrated, unified approach to public and environmental health at different scales therefore seems more necessary than ever, especially in the context of climate change. This global crisis therefore provides new opportunities to better interlink the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and rethink the health and development nexus.
