  Heritage and Ruptures

  10th Annual and International Colloquium of the Society of Activities and Research on the Indian World

  In the postcolonial theoretical framework, the study of heritage and ruptures is a rather familiar paradigm. But it is not a depleted paradigm. Given the millennial history of the Indian subcontinent and the plurality of its culture, the way its languages, literatures and arts appropriate the past, grasp the present and envisage the future remains a relevant object for inquiry. From the crossroads of diachronicity and synchronicity, tradition and modernity, singularity and solidarity, here and elsewhere, repetition and reinvention, the 10^th annual SARI conference to be held on the 28^th and 29^th May 2015 at the Université Paris Ouest Nanterre la Défense and on the 30^th May 2015 at the université Paris 13, Sorbonne Paris Cité, will be devoted to the exploration of this topic from an inter and pluridisciplinary perspective.

  Afrocentrismes américains. Mythologies et pratiques sociales

  Revue Civilisations, vol. 58 (1)

  La revue Civilisations consacrera en 2009 un numéro aux "Afrocentrismes américains". Dans ce volume, il s'agira de considérer l’afrocentrisme comme un objet anthropologique, historique et sociologique, une production sociale née du nationalisme et de la lutte des populations noires contre le racisme et l’oppression. Afin de cerner au mieux son objet, le numéro se concentrera sur les manifestations états-uniennes de l’afrocentrisme, pays où cette idéologie se diffusa sous sa forme embryonnaire dès le début du vingtième siècle. Les articles de ce volume pourront adopter plusieurs angles (historique, anthropologique, sociologique) et se consacrer aux différents secteurs de la vie sociale dans lesquels l’idéologie afrocentriste a pris place (politique, religion, art, économie …).
