  Searching for places, places of knowledge

  Identifying and indexing research grounds in scientific texts

  This day focuses on the challenges, methods and research questions associated with the recognition of geographical entities in the texts of scientific publications. The first session looks back at land-related research. Overgrazed lands, remote science, visibility of research sites and the local dimension of some sites will be discussed. The second session will present the methodologies for automatically detecting research fields in scientific texts. The third session will show the interest of these methods and the challenge of applying them to large corpora of scientific texts, taking the example of the ISTEX and OpenEdition corpora. The fourth session will present projects proposing interactive keyword and toponym exploration solutions for archaeology and geography journals.

  Qu’est-ce qu’une théorie de l'espace ? A-t-on besoin de théorie pour le décrire, l’expliquer, le comprendre, le transformer ? Sur le principe, ces questions semblent appeler une réponse consensuelle, mais, en pratique, ce n’est pas si simple. D’abord, nombre de chercheurs continuent de se détourner de la construction de concepts et d’énoncés théoriques. Ensuite, la contribution de la recherche sur l’espace à l’ensemble des théories du monde social reste souvent implicite, insuffisamment diffusée et discutée, alors même que le « tournant géographique » a progressivement conduit l’ensemble des sciences sociales à prendre l’espace au sérieux.

  « Retours d’expériences » en matière de centre de ressources numériques en SHS

  Ces journées d'études s'inscrivent dans le programme LIDO « Des lieux, des œuvres ». Représentations cartographiques, littéraires et iconographiques des lieux et des territoires.Méthodologie pour la construction de corpus, programme pluridisciplinaire hébergé à la MSH de Clermont-Ferrand. Les retours d'expériences proposés portent plus particulièrement sur les types de corpus (littéraires, artistiques et cartographiques) et de supports (texte, image et son) que le groupe LIDO tente de réunir dans le cadre de son programme de préfiguration d'un centre de ressources sur les images du Massif central. La seconde journée portera plus spécifiquement sur les ressources de l'analyse géo-historique.
