New european maritime challenges: terrorism, Brexit
Ce colloque exceptionnel, initié par l’Association des juristes franco-britanniques (AJFB) s’est tenu à tour de rôle à Greenwich (Londres) et à Paris. Afin d’élargir les thèmes d’actualité traditionnellement abordés entre les juristes de la Marine nationale et de la Royal Navy, avec le concours de l’AJFB, les organisateurs ont souhaité cette année aborder les nouveaux défis maritimes européens, que constituent la lutte contre le terrorisme d’une part, et les conséquences du Brexit d’autre part.

Issues and perspectives for the Scottish referendum in the United Kingdom and Europe
On 18 September 2014, precisely seventeen years after agreeing by a very considerable majority (74.3%) to the British Government’s proposal to set up in Edinburgh a Parliament with legislative powers in areas such as education and health care, Scottish voters said "No" by a majority of 55,3% to the question posed by the Scottish Government, namely “Should Scotland be an independent country?”

Scotland, Europe and Empire in the Age of Adam Smith and Beyond
Hosted by the Centre Roland Mousnier, the ECSSS (Eighteenth-Century Scottish Studies Society) and the International Adam Smith Society will hold a conference at the Sorbonne in Paris, from the 3rd to the 6th of July 2013. The theme of the conference will be : Scotland, Europe and Empire in the Age of Adam Smith and Beyond. The conference will tackle the question of the role of Scotland and Adam Smith’s thought in the constitution of the British Empire (and the other empires) during the Eighteenth Century, from America to Asia.
