  By the book. The book and the study of its digital transformation

  This two-day conference brings together scholars from the field of publishing studies to examine key issues around the digital transformation of the book, as well as to discuss the developing field of publishing studies. Analysed will be a key set of questions. How is the landscape of the book in Europe changing due to digital transformation? How will terrestrial bookshops survive the growth of ebooks? Are there international forces for change which will affect all markets, and what domestic factors will prevail? What is the connection between the spread of English as the global lingua franca and the growth of digital publishing?

  Littérature et numérique : vers quelles écritures ?

  L'Atelier français est heureux de vous convier à la rencontre « Littérature et numérique : vers quelles écritures ? ». Le métier d’écrivain change-t-il alors que la nature du livre évolue si profondément sous l’effet des nouveaux supports de lecture – smartphones, tablettes, iPad et bientôt télévision connectée ? Quelle est la marge créative de l’écrivain dans la production d’un livre-application ? S’agit-il encore d’édition quand il s’agit d’orchestrer la création d’un livre enrichi qui contient tant des contenus écrits que vidéo et audio ? C’est pour tenter de répondre à ces questions et à bien d’autres encore que l’Atelier français et la Société des gens de lettres (SGDL) ont convié un panel composé de spécialistes de l’écriture et des nouvelles technologies, d’éditeurs numériques et d’écrivains à explorer la nouvelle carte de l’écriture.
