The New Shape of Sharing: Networks, Expertise, Information
Online series on key issues facing Western European collections and public services will encourage debate and surface new ideas. The sessions will focus on three areas: new models for collaborative collection development and services; the growing range of content and format types and their significance for libraries and researchers; and the evolving role of libraries and librarians in the research process. The multiple effects of the pandemic on libraries and academic institutions clearly demonstrate that the topics chosen for the forum—cooperation and sharing of collections, services, and technology among libraries, scholars, and members of the book and publishing communities—are particularly pertinent in today’s library environment.

Cette journée d’étude propose d’interroger les modalités de la production, mais également de la consommation et des pratiques culturelles et communicationnelles – et leurs possibles mutations – au regard du temps. Il s’agira par exemple de se demander comment les rapports entre passé, présent et futur s’articulent de manière spécifique pour les activités culturelles et créatives ? Ou encore, comment les caractéristiques de la temporalité, comme l’instant, la durée, la séquence, le rythme, sont investies et valorisées par les différents acteur·trices et jouent sur la consommation culturelle ?

Childhood + culture = socialisation
Dispositions, categorisations, reconfigurations
What's new in the cultural socialization of children? The 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child is marked by the multiplication of research interests concerning children, who have become subjects, autonomous, educated and even transmitters, but also consumers, users and practitioners. Therefore the conference intends to reexamine the categories of childhood and of cultural objects as well as the mediation between the two, whether family, commercial or institutional oriented. The social reconsideration of childhood has been accompanied by a redefinition of the forms taken by cultural socialization and the role of each of its agents. How to shed light on the many changes occurring in the paths of cultural socialization: vertical and horizontal, strong/weak family and friendship ties, digital socialization, retro-socialization of parents by children, etc.?

The book, the museum and the child
L’objectif de ce colloque interdisciplinaire est d’explorer les relations entre le livre pour enfants sur l’art et le musée. Il ne s’agit pas d’étudier la représentation littéraire du musée, mais de s’attacher au livre d’art pour enfants dans la mesure où celui-ci se donne, dans un héritage malrucien plus ou moins explicite, comme un « musée imaginaire », afin de penser l’articulation de ces musées de papier avec le musée réel, ses collections, son activité éditoriale, ses actions envers les publics jeunesse et familiaux.

The New Shape of Sharing: Networks, Expertise, Information continues conversations begun at the New Directions Symposium held in Frankfurt in 2017. This multi-day forum of panel presentations, a poster session, and interactive breakout sessions on key issues facing Western European collections and public services will encourage both structured and unstructured debate. We will advance our understanding of the challenges and initiate action in three areas: design new models for collaborative collection development and services; explore a growing range of content and format types and what they mean for libraries and researchers, and highlight the evolving role of libraries and librarians in the research process.

Since its inception, the digital humanities has considered the question “what is it to be human in relation to machines in the digital age?” This issue of Open Information Science asks for papers that consider how we can understand “digital wellness” as part of the ongoing inquiry into what acts, representations, and understandings exist around human-ness in the digital era. Particularly, this volume seeks to explore the possibilities of digital wellness provided through a range of disciplines and forms. We invite papers which consider architectures, platforms, and diverse disciplinary engagements with the opportunities and challenges surrounding digital wellness.

Writing/Translating social media
Social media are now an integral part of our daily lives and the plurality of uses and misuses of those tools is striking : they range from personal interactions to corporate advertising or political campaigning, and from passive consumption of content to creative practices. Through their interfaces and because of their relation to time and topicality, social media trigger specific modes of writing and translating; they also impact the whole chain of publishing, redefine readership and raise archival issues. On could also mention the recent concentration of mainstream media within the GAFAM and an increased relianceon machine-generated content. We therefore welcome contributions that examine the process of writing and/or translating social media from a creative writing, translation studies, institutional, sociological or economic perspective.

À l’occasion du premier anniversaire de Lipotexte, dictionnaire thématique en ligne dédié à la littérature, le comité éditorial du projet souhaite organiser le 3 juin 2019 une journée d’études sur les apports des humanités numériques au sein des études littéraires. L'objectif sera de porter un regard critique sur les principes scientifiques aux fondements des outils numériques susceptibles d’être employés dans le cadre de la recherche en lettres et sciences humaines. C’est pourquoi nous invitons les chercheurs et chercheuses investi-e-s dans le domaine des humanités numériques à venir présenter leurs propres réflexions, qu’elles soient associées ou non à une pratique personnelle de la conception informatique.

CollEx-Persée workshop
Dans le cadre du projet CollEx « Réseaux pluridisciplinaires et pratiques documentaires : les transitions politiques en Amérique latine dans les années 1960/2000 » (2019-2020), la Contemporaine, l’Institut des hautes études de l’Amérique latine (IHEAL) et l’Institut des sciences sociales du politique (ISP) organisent une journée d’étude destinée à dresser un état des lieux des réseaux actuels de chercheurs travaillant sur l’Amérique latine en France et de leurs pratiques en matière de collecte et d’exploitation de sources, avec une attention particulière portée aux archives orales. Les entretiens avec des témoins occupent en effet une place croissante dans la démarche des chercheurs en sciences humaines et sociales.

Auctorial narrations in the public space: thinking and telling the author?
Actuellement, on assiste à une démultiplication des narrations en fonction des intervenants (journalistes, écrivains, politiques…) et prises de décisions comme l’émergence en France des mouvements #PayeTonAuteur et #AuteursEnColère ou encore la récente création de la Ligue des auteurs professionnels, sous l’impulsion de la Charte des auteurs et illustrateurs jeunesse et des États généraux de la bande dessinée. Cette mobilisation et les discours qui en découlent interrogent, tout en nous renvoyant à la question du positionnement des écrivains dans la société contemporaine et aussi à la façon dont l’auctorialité se raconte. En effet, on peut s’interroger à partir des divers champs de recherche des sciences humaines et sociales et en fonction des producteurs : quels sont les enjeux identitaires (comment se définir et se protéger ?), symboliques (comment être reconnus ? se positionner ?) ou de pouvoirs (comment gérer les rapports de force au sein du milieu littéraire ?) identifiables ? Ce colloque est ainsi l’occasion de repenser, dans la continuité de travaux menés en sociologie et en littérature notamment, la notion d’auctorialité afin de montrer comment la fonction d’auteur se caractérise par une mise en scène, des postures et une stratégie, c’est-à-dire une façon d’occuper une position en fonction de divers processus de création et de marqueurs institutionnels.

L’une des richesses des bibliothèques réside dans leurs collections patrimoniales. Mais du fait même de leur caractère précieux, inédit voire unique, ces collections restent encore souvent méconnues du grand public, tout en suscitant un réel intérêt et une curiosité scientifique, culturelle et artistique. Rendre le patrimoine accessible et attrayant peut donc être un facteur possible de démocratisation des savoirs, mais aussi un ciment social autour d’un héritage, local et national, commun. Repenser ce patrimoine et sa réception induit en outre une dynamique de la connaissance elle-même, en ajoutant une plus-value scientifique à la valeur intrinsèque de collections qui jusque-là pouvaient sembler endormies de ce long sommeil séculaire des choses oubliées. Le patrimoine des bibliothèques devenant de belles éveillées, comment opérer dans les bibliothèques cette métamorphose qui donne, régénère, renouvelle, modernise et valorise ?

“Open Information Science” Journal
The majority of academic papers on the topic of Open Access publishing are available only in fee for use journals. Thus, to make research about open access more widely available, Open Information Science is inviting research, review, and position papers for inclusion in a special issue about Open Access to be published during open access week in October 2018. Especially of interest are papers considering existing models of Open Access (platinum, gold, green, fair) and the controversies surrounding each of them. Works about the development of the Open Access movement and the usage and acceptance of works published openly, are welcome as well. All the submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of experts in the field.
