  Les paysages ruraux : un objet d’étude et une source pour les sciences de l’homme et de la société

  État de l’art

  Dans le cadre de son programme de recherche et de formation pluriannuel « Des cailloux sous la langue. Sources matérielles et discours », la structure fédérative de recherche ALLHiS organise un état des connaissances, des problématiques et de la théorisation sur l’étude des paysages ruraux en sciences de l’homme et de la société. Cet état de l’art sera développé au cours de trois doubles journées d’étude, dont les travaux donneront lieu à une unique publication finale. Cette proposition a été publiée une première fois en vue des premières rencontres qui devaient avoir lieu les 18-19 novembre 2020. Suite aux restrictions dues à l’épidémie de Covid-19, ces rencontres ont été reprogrammées, c’est pourquoi nous diffusons cette nouvelle annonce, dans l’espoir que de nouvelles propositions viendront s’ajouter à celles qui nous étaient déjà parvenues et qui sont d’ores et déjà partie intégrante du programme.

  This call for paper asks the question of what it means to inhabit : to inhabit a space, a territory, one’s home or one’s body, whether we are dealing with far away frontiers, or the outlines of intimacy ; to inhabit one’s life, one’s society/ies, one’s epoch, in what inhabiting means in terms of being present in one’s world, for and with one another, to face circumstances as they stand. In a time when, across the globe, entire populations are confined to their homes, Perspective issues an invitation to revisit the visual and imaginary plasticity of inhabiting : “to occupy a place of settled residence or habitat,” so states the dictionary, suggesting habit, repetition, regularity ; but also occupying persons, inhabiting them, animating them, moving them.

  Discoveries and rediscoveries of archives

  Les archives écrites constituent une source essentielle pour écrire l’histoire. Elles font partie du patrimoine, et il convient de sensibiliser le public à la nécessité de les préserver afin d’éviter que celui-ci ne se perde. Des archives apparaissent ou réapparaissent régulièrement, parmi lesquelles certaines ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives de recherche. Les contributions attendues aborderont, selon une approche à la croisée entre les enjeux archivistiques et les enjeux historiques, des sources écrites liées au territoire de la région Occitanie, en montrant comment les documents découverts ou redécouverts constituent un patrimoine qui contribue à renouveler les savoirs.

  Heritages values of 20th century architecture: what recognition?

  Critical review and international forward-looking vision

  The heritage values of 20th century architecture, whether they be cultural, social or technical, remain relatively complex to assess, and thus to share, due to lack of perspective and knowledge. The architectural and urban production of the second half of the 20th century was particularly prolific, sometimes remarkable, even exceptional. The energy, ecological transition, the changing habits and lifestyles are leading to the gradual transformation of this built heritage reaching to the end of its life cycle. Since the 1990-2000’s, a movement for heritage making has developed, which leads to many questions relating to possible and desirable developments of these architectural achievements. This  issue of  In  Situ  seeks  to  take a European or international critical perspective on the architecture of the 20th century and to highlight doctrines and positions adopted, practices and examples of schemes, policies or projects.

  Le programme interlaboratoire de la Maison méditerranéenne des sciences de l’homme (MMSH) « Archives de la recherche » 2020-2021 s’intéresse à l’articulation entre archives et données de la recherche en s’attachant concrètement aux problématiques nouvelles révélées par la multiplication de créations de services d’archives au sein des établissements d’enseignement supérieur et de recherche. Le séminaire se donne ainsi pour objet de réfléchir aux questions de conservation, d’exploitation scientifique, de mutualisation de collection et de valorisation des fonds d’archives de la recherche déposées au sein des unités de recherche et de la médiathèque de la MMSH. Il abordera également, sans les opposer et de façon réflexive, les pratiques actuelles, de la « culture de l’archive » et de la « culture de la donnée ».

  Poetics, Politics and the Ruin in Cinema and Theatre since 1945

  References to Ancient times have been made in Europe between the two World Wars and the Classical served the idea of “a return to order” considered by some as necessary after the heresies of the avant-gardes. Indeed, the Classical has been manipulated by Fascist and Nazi ideologies in orchestrating the Second World War and the Holocaust. This conference intends to study how artistic processes as well as works of theatre and cinema record the historical and artistic consequences of this trauma in Europe by reinventing Antiquity, in particular, by working with ruins both politically and poetically. While this research is initially rooted in classical reception and theatre and cinema studies, the conference intends to dialogue with other fields including archaeology, aesthetic philosophy, political sciences, anthropology, and media theory.

  Classical and barbarian: the sculpture of late Antiquity and the Upper Middle Ages (4th-10th centuries)

  From the corpus to the digital humanities

  Amorcé en 1965 sous l’égide de Jean Hubert et très partiellement publié par le Comité des travaux historiques et scientifiques (CTHS) sous le nom de Recueil général des monuments sculptés en France pendant le haut Moyen Âge (IVe-Xe siècle), l’inventaire de la sculpture haut-médiévale a été mené jusqu’en 1984 par une équipe du Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS). Il joue un rôle majeur pour la connaissance d’une production artistique qui forme un jalon primordial dans la plastique médiévale occidentale. Ces journées d’étude seront l’occasion de présenter les autres corpus européens et d’échanger avec les chercheurs travaillant sur la sculpture du haut Moyen Âge en traitant de son rapport avec l’architecture, des questions de formes et de datations ou encore de matériaux et de techniques.

  Language and Performance: Moving across Discourses and Practices in a Globalized World

  European Journal of Theatre and Performance

  The European Journal of Theatre and Performance is inviting submissions for its next issue. Against the backdrop of a deeply diversified and often divided global stage, this issue wants to reconsider the fairly strenuous debate on the relationship between language and performance, which has surfaced repeatedly yet in various guises in the field of the performing arts. The editors more specifically invite contributions that critically inquire into how language either enables or impedes the creation and development of performance works, the dissemination of scholarly research, or the reconciliation of local traditions with international tendencies in both the arts and academia. The overarching aim is to shed new light on the intricate connections between language and performance by focusing on the various ways in which performance always operates on the microlevel of concrete practices as well as in dialogue with the macrolevel of larger sociopolitical and cultural contexts.

  Moving heaven and earth. LiDAR's contribution to archaeology

  Stakes, methods and case studies in the Grand Est and peripheral regions

  Dans l’Est de la France, la cartographie LiDAR a été utilisée à de nombreuses reprises. La dernière en date, a été réalisée sur un massif forestier du versant lorrain du massif vosgien, entre Remiremont et Epinal, dans le cadre du projet de recherche AGER (Archéologie et Géoarchéologie du premier Remiremont et de ses abords). Elle visait, en s'adossant aux méthodes archéogéographiques, à mesurer l’impact qu’eut l’abbaye de Remiremont, fondée au VIIe siècle, sur la gestion du sol et l’évolution du paysage, dans un environnement de moyenne montagne, sans rien négliger des aménagements humains antérieurs et postérieurs à cette période. Au terme de trois années de recherche, une restitution publique fera le point sur l’état d’avancement du projet dans le cadre des manifestations scientifiques et culturelles organisées pour la célébration du 1400e anniversaire de la fondation de Remiremont. Ce colloque, sera également l’occasion d’un bilan sur l’apport du LiDAR dans la recherche archéologique du Grand Est et de ses régions et pays limitrophes - enjeux, méthodologie, études de cas - en privilégiant, par souci de comparaison, des interventions de chercheurs travaillant dans des secteurs au relief contrasté.

  Initiation into research workshop

  Pour la cinquième année consécutive, les membres de l’École française de Rome proposent une semaine d’initiation à la recherche consacrée à la question des artisans et des ateliers dans l’Italie antique et médiévale. Des conférences méthodologiques, des ateliers pratiques et des visites permettront d’aborder cette thématique. La formation aura lieu à Rome, du 25 au 29 janvier 2021 et est ouverte aux étudiantes et étudiants de master 1 et master 2 de diverses disciplines (histoire, histoire de l’art, archéologie et sciences sociales), inscrits dans une université française, dont les recherches s’intéressent de près ou de loin aux productions artisanales antiques et médiévales.
