  Alfred Binet and experimentation - between psychology and physical education archives

  Entre archives de la psychologie et éducation physique

  Ce colloque entend mettre l’accent sur ce fil directeur de sa carrière de psychologue que fut sa posture d’expérimentateur,que ce soit dans ses recherches psychologiques ou dans ses propositions pédagogiques, notamment en éducation physique des anormaux. À partir de l’étude de ses travaux autant que de ses archives, la diversité des méthodes d’expérimentation promues par Alfred Binet sera envisagée, afin notamment de travailler la nature de sa posture épistémologique, la qualification de son expérimentalisme propre, dans une période où les psychologies anglaise, allemande et française se déploient autour de paradigmes et d’approches singulières.

  Considering spaces of alternative learning

  This conference aims to interrogate space as an educational tool. Recent literature is rather unanimous in stating that space is not a neutral element and that, in education, spatiality plays a role in the construction of social and educational relations; questioning how space could operate in building models of ‘alternative’, ‘critical’ or ‘citizen’ education is more controversial. But how could we define an alternative or critical education? Which places and spaces can we consider ‘different’ from institutional and conventional educational models?

  Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Philological Encounters

  The conference brings together scholars from various regions and disciplines (including Arabic, Turkish, Hebrew, Sanskrit, as well as European languages) to explore the personal (and especially self-reflective) dimensions of academic knowledge production by studying scholars (i.e., producers) and their contexts (i.e., institutions and societies) in relation to their objects of study. The conference outlines an avenue of research dedicated to the study of tensions, antagonisms and polemics - as well as fascination, cooperation, appropriation and friendship - that transpired as a consequence of the meetings of different scholars and their dissimilar modes of textual scholarship, made possible through international cooperation in the form of conferences, journals, academic associations and student exchange.
