  Arts and vestiges: contextualisation, exhibition and scenography

  Cette rencontre a pour objectif de réunir doctorants, jeunes chercheurs et professionnels du monde de la recherche. En abordant les réflexions énoncées par Quatremère de Quincy le thème de ce colloque invite à se pencher sur les problèmes et les solutions engendrées par la circulation des œuvres et des objets archéologiques, lors des contextualisations et leur présentation, mais également les actions de mise en valeur du patrimoine artistiques et/ ou archéologiques in situ. Cette volonté de recontextualisation des pièces arrachées à leur contexte d’origine change-t-elle selon qu’elle s’effectue dans un musée archéologique ou des beaux-arts ?

  En abordant les réflexions énoncées par Quatremère de Quincy, le thème de ce colloque invite à se pencher sur les problèmes et les solutions engendrées par la circulation des œuvres et des objets archéologiques, lors des contextualisations et de présentation, mais également les actions de mise en valeur du patrimoine artistiques et/ou archéologiques in situ. Cette volonté de recontextualisation des pièces arrachées à leur contexte d’origine change-t-elle selon qu’elle s’effectue dans un musée archéologique ou des beaux-arts ? Par le biais d’une approche pluridisciplinaire, convoquant les méthodes historique, archéologique, anthropologique, muséologique et artistique, nous souhaitons porter un regard nouveau sur les thématiques de la contextualisation de l’art et des vestiges.

  Stone economics in the Meuse valley and in its adjacent regions (Ist Century B. C. - XVIIIth Century)

  Le colloque « Pierre à pierre II » a pour objectif de centrer les réflexions sur la vallée mosane, célèbre pour ses ressources lithiques, et dont les tronçons de la Meuse moyenne comme de la basse Meuse constituent depuis l’Antiquité l’une des artères économiques majeures dans cette région d’Europe. Dans le prolongement des débats du premier cycle de conférences qui s'est tenu à Nancy en 2015, le colloque « Pierre à pierre II » souhaite privilégier trois grands axes thématiques : la géographie de la pierre (axe 1), la pierre sur le chantier de construction (axe 2) et, enfin, la pierre en tant que mobilier ou élément décoratif (axe 3).

  Water Management in the Mediterranean during the 1st Millennium BC

  IIIe symposium international HYDRΩMED

  The aim of the meeting is to compare the different modes of adaptation of the Ancient Mediterranean populations to the environmental resources, especially their hydric resources. In a climate marked by unequal distribution of water, the ancient societies, whether Phoenician-Punic, Greek or Etruscan, responded in different ways to the various situations, let alone the hydric crises which may have affected them. The meeting will associate systemic theoretical reflections as well as case studies on ancient sites, to outline the mutations and the permanencies, the possible technological transfers from one society to another. Here, as in other fields of human activity, we shall query the existence of an ancient Mediterranean koine around the knowledge and the technical practices, around the cultural and cultural traditions. The chronology considered runs from the 8^th to the 1^st century BC, i.e. before the diffusion of the Roman models and techniques.

  The Transept and its Upper Levels in the High Medieval Church

  Towards a New Functional Approach (Architecture, Decor, Liturgy and Sound)

  This conference is jointly organized by the Catholic University of Angers (Faculty of Humanities) and the University of Lausanne (Department of History of Art). It aims to analyse in greater detail the spaces of the transept and to explore their relation(s) with the choir / heart of the church. This two-day international and interdisciplinary symposium will work towards bringing together and assessing the results, often dispersed, of past and present research, building upon debates involving specialists from multiple backgrounds and finishing with a round table which will propose a summary of the papers and explore further insights into new research directions.

  Norm and Standard in preroman Italy

  Measure: from theories to practices

  Après une première rencontre sur les langages, ce deuxième atelier du projet collectif de recherche sur les phénomènes de normalisation et de standardisation dans l’Italie préromaine porte sur le thème de la mesure. Qu’il s’agisse des poids, de l’espace (l’architecture), ou encore des productions artisanales (la céramique), la documentation archéologique invite à réfléchir sur les différents systèmes d’unités de mesure existant dans les cités étrusques et italiques et sur leurs implications sociales et culturelles : peut-on parler de systèmes cohérents, normés à l’échelle des différentes cités ou des différentes régions ? Quelles sont les logiques et les instances qui président à la mise en place de tels systèmes, à leur évolution à l’intérieur d’une cité et dans certains cas à leur diffusion d’une région à l’autre ?
